Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAccess to reception and rooms only possible via a steep and narrow staircase. This would be unsuitable for someone with mobility/luggage issues . Breakfast was Ok but minimal. Wi-fi was poor but supposedly is being upgraded.
Very good location, just off the main shopping thoroughfare. Walking distance to train and bus terminals. Clean and comfortable room but city view is a bit of a stretch. Nice rooftop balcony

United KingdomThe welcome could have been a lot better. A lack of local information, even about parking. Tip to owner- The ensuite is beautiful but the shower needs a really good clean behind the fold away shower door as it''s beginning to get a build up of mould which will ruin the shower.
Location, lovely bars + coffee places & great for seeing the surrounding sights which are unmissable. The terrace is lovely.

AustraliaGreat view from the shared terrace, the host Alessandro was very friendly and welcoming, he helped with our bags. there are quite a few stairs but it’s an ancient building and it was a lively area but great double glazing and block out so it did not affect our sleep. A kettle was provided with cups and everything explained, we had no trouble securing free parking close by.

United StatesThe location is the best for visiting Agrigento. Really close to both train and bus stations so no need for a Taxi at all. The town is beautiful and I wish we had spent more time there.

NetherlandsRoom not clean and cigarette butts in the trash. Too few towels for two people. Communication with the host not flawless. The response to questions sometimes takes a long time or does not come at all. Public areas, such as terrace for breakfast, not clean and partly neglected. Smelly water in the dishwasher (dishwasher broken?) which causes sewer smell in the room.
View terrace is very nice. Location in center is good. The insulation of the windows is very good against the noise pollution from the street.

ItalyThe breakfast was very minimal, to the point of being almost non-existent, which left us quite disappointed. There were brioscine confezionate. There was no clear guidance on what was available to us. For instance, there was yogurt and orange juice in the fridge, but it wasn't clear if these were for all guests or belonged to someone else, as there were no instructions provided. We ended up having to go out to get something more substantial for breakfast.
The location was excellent, situated right in the heart of the old city. The host was easy to communicate with over the phone. The rooms were well-equipped, comfortable, and clean.

United StatesThe bed was quite hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. Just a small thing, we are not fond of not meeting our host at check-in (codes were given by text). We find if you do, you can gain very valuable local information. A lot of places in Sicily have stairs and no lift and we were informed about this on booking. The stairs are quite steep and narrow however and luckily we asked for a lower floor room (which was readily obliged) but it still took some manoevering to get up to the first level with the bags. It's confusing that the Booking.com ad says it has breakfast. On the very top floor, there is a kitchenette with supplies of coffee/tea/water/ cornflakes/ yoghurt/juice. While the bedroom was clean, paint is peeling on the walls and ceiling and the floor tiles near the balcony doors are cracked.
Location was perfect. The B and B is at the very beginning of the main street, Via Atenea and close to the bus and train stations. On the top floor, (third floor) there is a kitchenette with coffee/tea/water supplied all day together with some cornflakes, milk, yoghurt and packaged juice boxes.

United StatesI miss arriving at hotels and being greeted by the host, but that's the new world of access codes and WhatsApp B&Bs. The disadvantage is that you can't spend ten minutes with someone who knows the city and can offer directions or tips or suggestions for restaurants, etc. You can WhatsApp them, but not quite the same as a friendly face. If you are driving, there is free public parking in two big outdoor lots a five minute walk from the B&B, but keep in mind that if it's a weekend, the lots will be full and if you're coming back from an excursion you may have to look for parking elsewhere and driving in Agrigento is a nightmare—not because of the drivers, but because you will get easily lost (even with GPS) on narrow, one-way streets.
We were two friends traveling and had a lovely, large room on the first floor with two single beds pushed together and one other single bed. We had two big windows and It was very quiet, even though we were on a busy street and right next to the lobby. The room and bathroom were very clean. The location is amazing; just on the edge of the old city center. Sandra wasn't there when we arrived, but there was easy access to entry with a code. The kitchen and patio at the top are wonderful—great views—and Sandra keeps the fridge stocked with water and coffee and snacks. A very nice man who works with Sandra made lunch reservations for us at a great restaurant (Il Re di Girgenti) near the fabulous Valley of the Temples (DO NOT MISS THIS!) which is a ten minute drive from the B&B.

United StatesNothing 😊
The view from the balcony was perfect. We looked down on the Valley of the Temples and the ocean during the day and during the night we got a bottle of wine and relaxed on the balcony. The owners were very responsive and instructions worked without any problems. The property is situated between the bus station and the rail station, not more than a 5-10 minute walk. The property lies at the beginning of the old town, which we walked all around in and found an amazing overlook. We got a referral by Sandra to one of the best meals we have had in Sicily at the Manhattan restaurant, which is right in front of the property up a few steps. Sandra was helpful in every way and couldn’t have stayed at a better place.

United StatesThe steps up to the terrace can be a little uneven in height, but we noticed that as we were maneuvering them.
The room was spacious, clean, and charming. The terrace balcony was delightful. One side of the balcony has a distant view of the Temples and the sea. The other side of the balcony is covered by a pergola, has lots of plants, and provides a cheery view of the cityscape - it was a great place to enjoy the free breakfast coffee, cereal, and yogurt. We were able to do remote check-in and check-out which was helpful given our schedule trying to see the Temples and find parking on a Saturday night. The area is the place to be on a Saturday night and we delighted in all the families out to enjoy themselves. We found a table at a restaurant downstairs and had a delightful and delicious meal.

BulgariaWe are satisfied with our stay. We wandered around a bit during rush hour to find a parking space. We were placed in the fourth apartment, which was on the quiet side of the street. On the smart side there is loud music and parties until 1.00 am. on the bed there is a wooden backrest that slams into the wall, it is good to grab it with silicone or something. The terrace is phenomenal. The bathroom is great. The entrance hall and the gifts for eating and drinking are great!
