Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

● The fridge turns off when the key card is removed, making it impossible to keep anything cold.
● The beds are incredibly comfortable. ● Fantastic location, close to great restaurants and shops. ● The room was cleaned daily. ● Last but not least, Luigi is a wonderful and helpful host.

Clean & comfortable. Spacious room. Great location. Quiet and safe. Great shower. Good quality large towels and nice body wash/shampoo provided. Decent hairdryer. Luigi has thought of everything!

Room was really nice, host made sure we are comfortable. It was quiet in the room even with only the glass window closed (and not the noise canceling window). Note: Google maps points to the wrong side of the building. Needed to turn to Vico Belledonne (from Giuseppe Fiorelli) to find the intetcom

No issue with the property.
The room felt like a haven after the bustle of central Napoli. What you see in the gallery photos is what you get. Luigi designed and laid out the room to be comforting for both mind and body. The apartment is a comfortable walking distance from Piazza Amedeo station which provided easy access to many parts of Napoli. Moreover, Luigi is a hospitable host, going out of his way to make sure we were received and settled properly.

The room was beautiful and new, and in a great location. Restaurants and shops right outside the door and seaside only a short walk away. Luigi was so friendly and accommodating and stayed in touched with us the whole time to make sure we got checked in smoothly. Highly recommend!

Super nice and comfortable rooms in a nice area in Chiaia. Luigi welcomed us as soon as we arrived and took the time to make sure we had everything needed and also gave his recommendations for Napoli.

We had a wonderful stay at Starbien. The location was excellent. The room was modern, beautifully furnished, and exceptionally clean. Luigi, the host, was incredibly kind. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

The only issue was getting to the property the day we arrived. The taxi dropped us off in a piazza close by, and then we had to walk through the cobbled streets with our bags. It wasn't far, but when trying to find it for the first time, it seemed like it took a while and the b&b is on the third floor, so not something you see from street level. Luigi was very helpful and immediately responding to our messages.
Starbien was an ideal accommodation for us. great location - quite close to many things, lots of restaurants and shops, but also quite family friendly. The room was a good size and very clean. Luigi was a great host. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

Great location for exploring Naples. King size bed, smart TV, coffee machine and white marble walls in the en-suite! Delicious breakfast at the local cafe close by. We especially enjoyed meeting the owner, Luigi.

Not much really.
The place is in an excellent location, at the center of what neapolitans call the " movida" which is the weekend night scene for the younger generation. Dozens of bars, clubs, cafes, and restaurants are overflowing with youth from Friday to Sunday night. Yet the room is as quiet as it gets, having only one window facing the internal court of the building. The room was sparkling clean, and well furnished, although a bit small, and it could benefit from some stands for the luggage. The bathroom is modern and clean. Big pleasant surprise was the daily room cleaning service, all but forgotten in these post-covid times. Luigi is a great host, very helpful and communicative, made our stay pleasant and enjoyable.

B&B Starbien was the perfect stay for our little stop over in Naples! Luigi (the owner) was fantastic to communicate with, attentive, and made sure that our stay was fantastic! The location of this B&B is amazing, with lots of great restaurants very close by and there is also a lift in the building for getting your luggage to the rooms!
