How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Verified reviewWe had a comfy stay, and the room was super clean with a lovely balcony. The location was very central, perfect for exploring this beautiful town on foot.
We were disappointed to be directed to park in a zone where we thought parking was allowed, only to end up with a ticket. We showed the receptionist where we had parked, and he said it was fine — this was actually the second spot we tried, following their instructions, since all the paid spots were taken. We felt let down by their advice, especially because they didn’t mention that some parts of the public parking are not free. The sign wasn’t visible at night, and with a long line of cars parked there, we trusted it was okay, as confirmed by the staff. They refused to refund us the ticket and didn’t acknowledge any responsibility for this, which was quite shocking. Also, breakfast was included in our stay, but by 9:30 AM they had already run out of croissants and ham and didn’t refill or restock them. Considering it’s a small hotel, we expected the same breakfast options to be available for all guests, even if we arrived a little later.
Dear Roddy, I am happy to read that you had a comfy stay, that you appreciated the cleanliness and position of the B&B. On the other hand, as already explained privatly the instructions we sent you are very clear. It is true that we told you that is possible to park on that specific street but it is clearly written to park in the WHITE LINES but you did not. You left your car further on where there are no WHITE LINES and there is also a sign that says NOT TO PARK. If you did not see it that is not our foult but a lack of attention from you. We are happy to assist our guests but you cannot pretend that we pay the ticket for you if you make a mistake. Regarding the breakfast I am sorry that croissants run out fast that morning. It had mini bar : with cold water 1eur and small bottles of wine 10eurand prosecco for 5eur That was super nice . It is worth it to buy in the place a chocolate for 3 eur couse in the city is more expensive , probably other products as well . I get pistachiio cream for 5 ( didnt check what price had the city)

Verified reviewThe staff were absolutely excellent. Emilio and Erena were so kind, helpful, patient. We felt very comfortable. They had great recommendations and the parking instructions were bang on (and hence free). Location was superb and quiet and peaceful.
Room and washroom were a bit on the small side, but clean, comfortable, quiet.

Verified reviewBeautiful new property in the center of Ragusa Ibla. Gorgeous views from the roof top and very friendly and hospitable staff - Emilio was very nice. Good selection for breakfast that one could take upstairs to the roof top. Local delicacy - fresh latte di mandorla - was delicious.

Our room was quite small though we did have a nice deck as well. We were told other rooms are larger. This B&B is at the very bottom of Ragusa Ibla, but most things are within walking distance. Breakfast was fine but nothing special.

Verified reviewWe loved the excellent location of the hotel - perfect for exploring Ragusa Ibli and close to bars and restaurants. Bus stop at end of road for getting to Ragusa Superiore where the cathedral is. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Parking is a short walk away and is 1 euro per hour but you have to go back to feed the machine more money!

Verified reviewThe location of the property is excellent, walking distance from the main street and several restaurants. Good to know there is a taxi stand/ bus stop 1min walk on the right from the B&B which unfortunately we only discovered at the end of our trip. Rooms are bright and very clean. Nicely decorated. Breakfast is taken care of by a lovely lady and there is a nice selection (nuts, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, chocolate, jam, cheese and local salami). She also serves coffee/juice/milk as desired. Beautiful terrace which is open all day / night for use by guests.
If you happen to have one of the rooms near the breakfast room it is not very soundproof so you hear people in the morning. In our case we were up early so it did not bother us. It would have been nice to have someone at reception, at least in the mornings in case something was needed. There isn't much of a reception area, not even a toilet to use at the last minute before travelling back or a dedicated room for luggage. However, they did keep our suitcases on the last day until we went out for a last stroll.

On the other hand, I think you mixed up the difference between the services that a b&b and a hotel can offer. I am conviced that the staff and myself work hard and go out of our way to make the stay of our guests pleasant and adorable offering many services that are not required as a b&b like early check in, Happy hour on the terrace, laundry service and so on. In add, the staff is available 10-12 hours a day for any information. However, I know that we can never compare the services with an hotel because we are not an hotel! That is the reason why there is no big reception, no extra bathroom outside the rooms, no extra room for the luggages. This said, I hope to see you in the future. Verified reviewThis little B&B is a treasure. Perfectly situated for exploring the old town and with stunning views from its roof terrace. We were only here for one night but could happily have stayed longer. We had travelled to Ragusa by bus from Catania, so arrived at the main bus station. We then caught a local bus to the Giardino Ibleo, a very short walk from the hotel. All very easy, thanks to helpful guidance from the hotel staff in advance of our arrival. The owner, Emilio went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was perfect for us. Everything in the minibar was at a very reasonable price. The bars of chocolate were brought home as gifts. A perfect location and incredible views from the roof terrace - we will always remember our stay here. Thanks Emilio!

Perhaps breakfast should be served a la cart for some items. We ran a half marathon that morning and got to breakfast by 9AM but some items on the buffet table were gone because some guests who got there before us took them but didn't eat them, leaving them to be thrown away from their plates. However, Emilio was available to make to order coffee made up for this shortage and energized us for a day of exploration
