How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewGood breakfast with view over to Agrigento. Secure parking and a nice pool for a late afternoon swim. Room was comfortable and despite being near the road noise was not a problem.
The property is close to a busy main road and it can be tricky to turn in or depart safely given the speed or local traffic.

air conditioning must have a governor on it. we couldn't get it to cool the room down for hours. Great having a pool but it needs to be skimmed and vacuumed daily for this sort of place. Could also do with a chest of drawers for people staying a few days rather than just a hanging closet

Verified reviewThe Villa de Sole Relais is a haven of calm and tranquillity. It has a charming swimming pool, surrounded by pretty plants and green vegetation, and nice views up to Agrigento cathedral on the hilltop. My room was very comfortable, attractively decorated and extremely clean, with direct access to a small terrace and the pool. The continental breakfast offered an abundant choice, with the sheep's milk ricotta a particular high point! I much enjoyed eating my breakfast on the sunny terrace. An equal high point of my visit was the charming owners - Toto, Antonella and their daughter Carla. They went out of their way to make me feel at home and to help me with my trips to the Valle dei Templi, into Agrigento, and to the railway station. A really special family! Grazie mille Antonella, Carla e Toto per tutta la vostra gentilezza! Grazie di cuore!
Nothing really! The situation outside town is a little inconvenient if you don't have a car. But the compensation is a very peaceful and pretty setting with a swimming pool.

Verified reviewCharming and friendly family run Bed and Breakfast with exquisite decor and wonderful facilities including a welcoming pool and terrace. Homemade pastries and cakes for breakfast were delicious. The city was on our doorstep and with the help of Tony the friendly taxi driver we had no problem getting in to dine in the evening. Superb valley of the Temples close by and many other interesting places to visit. We would recommend very much this property to enjoy a great break. Thank you Carla and Marianna!

The staff were very nice with lots of excellent advice about the area. It is very easy to access the valley of the temples from here. As a bonus, I left some clothes behind and the owner has offered to post them for me, above and beyond kind people 🙂

Parking was terrible,room was old and small. Fridge in room was noise and we could not sleep. We booked a Jnr suite which was smaller than double room.
Dear Sir, we are shocked by your review, I think probably you wrote about the wrong hotel. if not, I think that: you allow yourself to rate the cleaning 2.5 but you didn't specify why? how come? our rooms are impeccable, allow me to say so. 2) terrible parking? a free and guarded parking ... maybe you should also appreciate the fact that you broke our gate, because you were drunk, and we didn't ask you for a refund for your damages! You could have also politely ask if you owe us something for that, but of course you didn’t because you ran away so quickly after the breakfast. 3) staff 5? that’s really absurd because you were so happy and smiling with us and you enjoyed so much your room and the view! 4) old room .. !? this is really inconceivable... the room was renewed and restyled months ago. Dear sir, maybe in these days you drank too much wine and confused the hotels where you stayed!

Verified reviewWe liked the view of Agrigento from our terrace. The room was very clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool which we noticed was cleaned daily. The family were friendly and were keen to give us helpful information about the area.
We had to use the car to get anywhere because the property is back from a highway.

Verified reviewI really recommend this stay if you are visiting Agrigento or the temples!! It looks even better in real life than on the pictures. *Room was clean,very good bed+pillow, large, seatings in front of the terrace(We had the blue room in front of the pool). *We were able to park the car behind the gate * swimming pool + area is really nice! Full of green and big enough for the guests. Also outside shower present * 4min drive from the old town Agrigento (which is very cosy at night) * the breakfast was one of the best We had in Sicily! (Very big and lots of options!!) * the view is heavenly! * if people write about busy road and lots of noise, its really not that bad. There is a road next to it, but not like its a highway or so. I can assure you, you feel perfectly zen around the pool area and no trouble sleeping at night! + big : very lovely friendly family! Carla(daughter gave us friendly welcome and lots of information) and Antonella was very friendly at breakfast ( she speaks french btw!) We had a lovely stay and would gladly stay here again!

Verified reviewThe young lady that received us was very friendly, and gave us some tips. Thanks to her we decided to go the Valley of Temples at the end of the day when it is less warm. The breakfast was very good and the room was clean. The pool was a nice addition as well, though we did not have time to use it.
The air-conditioning did not work properly so it was a long night. We had to open the balcony doors and wait until our room cooled down around 3:00 am ( it was around 34 degrees). The parking lot is quite small and narrow for 2 cars. I also got a ragged towel with holes in it (multiples holes) but the worst was still to come. The following morning I brought the towel to the breakfast room as I wanted to take a shower straight after breakfast. When I showed it to the owner, she went ballistic and accused me of being unfair for bringing the towel there. Let me say that she attracted more attention to the point with her attitude. I don't know what else I could have done as the reception is only open when you arrive. Only during breakfast is somebody around. Besides there are lots of stairs from our room to the breakfast room and I have had knee surgery 2 1/2 months prior to our trip. It was a very unpleasant experience. In fairness, she apologised once she had calmed down: our room was serviced, they left fresh towels and the AC issue was solved, but it was little bit too late, the damage was already done. For a place that is listed as 4 stars, it is unacceptable to get such a towel and then being mistreated by the owner. Antonella needs to learn to treat her guests as such.
Dear guest, your criticisms were predictable because your behavior was incorrect and persecutory towards the structure. let's start by saying that :1) the air conditioner worked but it was 40 degrees outside and obviously it was difficult to have a very cold temperature; 2) the parking is offered by the structure and even if it is small it is free and you did not pay for it.. where you come from it would certainly have been very expensive but instead you criticize the free parking! 3) do you dare to bring a towel with a small hole into a breakfast room.!? A little more education is also needed on the part of the guest, you should have called me aside and represented the "problem" to me, we would have avoided the inconvenience and overcome it without the persecutory attitude you demonstrated. Unfortunately it may happen that there has been a lack of attention on the part of the laundry we are referring to. 4) the stairs you are talking about refer to a flight of stairs and you have not reported your mobility difficulty. otherwise we may also cancel your reservation. considering that the "lady" in question still allows herself to criticize and reformulate the review, I think that it is no longer a question of constructive criticism but of pure malice which was already evident in her behavior! I repeat, dear guest so to speak, G.J that we sweat our bread every day and that our 4 stars are deserved and appreciated by kind and polite guests, certainly not like you!
