How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Some of the furniture on terrace were worn out - still it was a nice place to hang - but it has even bigger potential. The biggest drawback is the fact that you can't walk really walk (despite proximity - no infrastructure) to the beach or restaurants - so you really need a car to move around. If you have one though - it is a really nice place to stay with a good value to money ratio.
Very friendly host who served absolutely delicious breakfasts. The view from the terrace was stunning and chilling out in the evening distanced from noise and crowd was a bless. The room was recently renovated, fairly high standard with all necessary amenities in place. The bed was comfortable. The beach nearby was clean and not crowded. Overall rating is really good as a calm, well equipped place with a great view.

far from the beach, restaurant and town, need to drive 10 - 15 minutes down from top of a hill to get to a town.
located on the top of the hill, the view of overlooking the beach and the port at the distance, and location to visit the Valley of the Temples and Scala dei Turchi by car.

The air conditioner was not able to heat the room. It was cold. There were no toiletries.

This accommodation made our stay in Porto Empedocle worthwhile. It has a great view of the beach. The breakfast was delicious, and the host was really kind and flexible.

We were sure there’s an access to the beach, but it’s only driving.
The host was very kind. Though she knew no English, she did her best to help us. Basic breakfast. Nice view.

Loved everything about the place. Rossana is a very caring host. She made sure we had everything we needed, made delicious breakfast, and is just a nice person in general. The room is pretty big with a private bathroom and private entrance. The ocean view from the villa is amazing! You can park your car on a street right in front of the villa, it's a bit tiny, as most streets in Italy, but the car fits just fine.

Nothing. We have been traveling the whole island and this is absolutely the best place where we stayed.
The location, the view and the terrase (absolutely beautiful), the bed is excellent, the room is big, clean, decorated with a lot of touch and care. The shower is hot and has power. The place is quiet. Personnel is super nice. Excellent breakfast. We definitely recommend to stay here. Easy and free parking.

Beautiful, clean and very convenient place with fantastic sea views from the terrace. The hosts were very helpful and made a great breakfast for us to enjoy on the terrace. The location is very close to some beautiful beaches and the Scala dei Turchi.

Only that I didn't stay longer!
Stunning location - set on a hill overlooking the ocean. It was a beautiful huge patio where there were tables for eating and chairs for enjoying the view, and also a hammock. The breeze off the ocean was spectacular and it was so pleasant. The hostess was really friendly and nice and offered me coffee when I arrived and juice and various drinks. The location is near the "Turkish Steps" which is a nice beach area with some natural formations and is pretty famous/popular. I spent part of the day there, and then went in the early evening to the Valley of the Temples, which is a 10 minute drive the other way. The room is large, the bed was huge and comfortable, but honestly I didn't want to spend much time in the room - I wanted to sit on the big patio and watch the sea. It was relaxing and beautiful!
