How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewIncredibly courteous and hospitable owners. The room was super clean and the outdoor space was great for the kids. There isn't any hub or oven in the shared kitchen, but it was still very practical to prepare small meals. The freshly baked cakes for breakfast were super delicious. Would return any time.

Verified reviewIt was near beach, there was free parking space in the street, room was cleaned every day and was very spacious. Host was very fast with answering, communication was good.
Humidity in the room can be felt so it can be hard to dry your towels, the lawn sprinklers were on at 11pm when we would get home, breakfast was good but if you don’t like sweet breakfast you may get bored after a few days.

Verified reviewEasy check in - owners on site. Fresh renovated bathroom, shower great once you figured it out.. but rest of unit is ‘old’. Breakfast is left in kitchen to serve prepare yourself in the morning.
We were there in March- no restaurants were open in the evening on a Thursday night- although Google said they were!! No fridge in kitchen. Couldn’t get the door to unit to lock.
Good evening madam thank you for the review, I'm sorry you didn't find anything open to have dinner, but this is certainly not our fault, so I don't understand the reason for the negative review on other structures that don't concern mine, the fridge is inside the rooms, I don't know how it's possible that you didn't see it, despite everything I hope you had a pleasant night.

Verified reviewThe apartment was well equipped and a great choice for families. The location is tucked away and peaceful but very close to the beach 5min easy walk and close enough to town. Host were very accommodating of a late change to group number.
The breakfast is in the local style of cake and yoghurt, this could be varied but it is a really minor issue over all. Not a negative just an observation.

Verified reviewFirst of all the location is perfect, only 5 minutes walking to Maria Piu beach, which is the best beach in Alghero. Parking is available in the street. Our host prepared us omelette in the morning, which was super nice from her, and also there are come sweets prepared for the guests every day. The apartment was cleaned every day and the washing machine was available for the guests in the kitchen, so we could wash some stuff before leaving home.
The bed could be more comfortable for the price.

Verified reviewMega friendly owners, they told us to feel as if we were at home. Omelette and home made croissants with Nutella for breakfast plus other packed stuff (sweet and savoury). Possibility of eating or simply using the outside table and armchairs. Drying rack for towels and swimming suits available. Huge room with plenty of space and with fridge inside. Possibility of using the kitchen tools to prepare and eat your food.
The bathroom and room are in general a bit damp

Maybe they take care better of top season customers - thus all the good reviews. For us it was like...what exactly are we paying for? No hot water in the shower. Not operating aircond/heating No warm blankets Not clean enough bathroom Very poor/useless wifi Very poor breakfast (which was the main reason for us to take the place as we stayed there for two nights right after late arrival by plane). First think first morning was quickly find the supermarket not to starve. Only plus: comfortable bed. Poor communication. Horrible experience.
Dear Polina, thank you for having appreciated the beds and the check-in service at 21.00 in the evening (we came to predict you at the bus stop) but I am very sorry for the negative opinion on the other services taken care of by us with great commitment to all customers and in all the periods of opening of the B&B and for which we had the very welcome excellent reviews, but above all I do not understand why if the shower, the wi fi, the heating did not work well (explained the operation during the delivery of the keys), and if the blankets available (still summer weather) are insufficient, the sweet and savory breakfast with daily sweet made by the hostess is unsatisfactory and the service (breakfast only and not lunch or dinner) did not make these requests as others satisfied (such as the use of the use of another temporarily free room). If our English was not satisfactory we will have used google translate. I was also sorry that you left without saying goodbye, we care a lot. We wish you a peaceful continuation of your holiday
