How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe employee was nice and explained the tourist areas and how to get there.
The room was small and uncomfortable, located on the top floor of the building, with a very small elevator, which we tried to use once and it didn't work. The view from the room wasn't as wonderful as the advertisement said. In the morning, we woke up to noise from nearby rooms; it sounded like someone was inside our room.

Verified reviewThe location was brilliant, right near the arena and close to all facilities needed. The staff were very friendly and informative giving us a map and lots of information about the city. Room was clean if a little small but this didn’t bother us. Despite being small it was very well stocked with facilities such as hairdryer, fridge etc.
Room was very very hot despite having the air conditioning on full from the moment we got there. Room was in an attic so this contributed to the heat. There was nowhere to store luggage before or after check in and check out. This meant we had to carry luggage around, an alternative luggage storage was suggested to us but didn’t belong to the property so just something to be aware of.

Verified reviewA fabulous short stay. The accommodation was beautifully designed and thoughtfully furnished. Check in was easy and a pleasure with great communications throughout. The location is in the heart of the old town a stone's throw from the Arena. Highly recommended.

Verified reviewThe hotel is very well located, from there we can walk all the old city to the most incredible views. Very good restaurants around and Arena Verona by the corner. The employees are very friendly and willing to help. I would recomend for my friends and in a next stay in Verona I would definitely stay there again.

Verified reviewThe location was superb as we were there for 2 performances at the Arena, but in addition to the Arena, it was close to everything. The air conditioning worked beautifully, it was quiet, and very clean, and comfortable. But most importantly, Nick went the extra mile to insure we were comfortable and taken care of. Thank you! .
Everything was excellent

Verified reviewVery central location in compact Verona. Excellent staff who are very helpful, especially Mr Nick, who helped me contact an English-speaking dentist as I speak no Italian. We also enjoyed the conversations with Nick during breakfast, and he helped us better understand Verona and Italy in general.

Verified reviewapartment was on a 3rd floor. Spacious planning, however bathroom quite outdated and small shower.
Air conditioner in the apartment was so loud that we could barely use it. Service was a bit rude. We were told check in was between 14:00 - 18:00, you could not come earlier. If you came later, you would have to pay a penalty since STAFF is NOT there anymore. Generally I thought staff cared more about their work hours rather than trying to accommodate the guests. I would not stay there again.

Verified reviewI loved to breakfast in the "secret garden" also the happy hour offer was a lovely bonus. Would be nice to have a small dinner / salad possibility in the hotel but there are plenty of nice restaurants nearby. The location is perfect. It is central but also nice and quiet. It is also close to la Scala and it was safe to walk back from the theatre back to the hotel. I also loved the artwork of the permanent exhibition of Romano Rui.
Dear Marianna, we really thank you for this review. We think that you are writing about a facility in Milano and our facility is in Verona. 😊 For others guests is important to know that we have not "secret garden", happy hour, dinner service and, unfortunatly, we have not Romano Rui exibition here. We are not close to La Scala but we are very close to Arena di Verona! 😊 All'Opera Prima staff

Verified reviewI loved the location, in the medieval old town, close to the Roman ampitheatre in the Piazza Bra. I could walk out the door, down the street a little bit, and I was in the Piazza Bra, where I could eat/drink/stroll around the old town and enjoy the ambience, especially in the evenings. The staff were lovely and accommodating, especially when I realized my european adaptor didn't fit into their power point. They lent me one of theirs so I could charge my phone. My room was right at the top, in an attic type room, on split levels. I could open the windows if I wanted to, but given the air temp outside was hotter than inside, I kept them closed. But I love that you could open them if you wanted to. I loved that I had keys to all doors, and I could come and go as I wanted to. The room was clean, tidy, well laid out, with nice fittings/linen/style. It had a lovely feel to it. I had views over the terracotta rooftops and could see some of the famous ampitheatre through a window. My own ensuite bathroom had its own door, so I could shut it off to help keep the room cool (I was there during a heatwave in summer). The shower had great pressure. There was a small fridge for my use, with some cold drinks if I needed them (I could put money into a little box to pay for the mini bar items). The bed was really comfortable. They had a sitting room with coffee/tea/cookie facilites for guests to use. There was a gorgeous old lift to use if you didn't want to take the stairs.
I arrived during a hot spell (high 30's celcius) and the air conditioner in my room wasn't very powerful. (bearing in mind my room was at the top of the building, in an attic like space). My room was still pretty warm considering the air con had been on all arvo. The curtains on the windows were light, so I slept with an eye mask on to make the room nice and dark. Keep in mind also the staff don't work 24/7, so expect to only check in around 2pm. If you arrive any earlier than that, I believe there will be no-one available. But, you are right next to the Piazza Bra, with PLENTY of things to look at and plenty of choice of cafes/restaurants to sit, rest and grab a bite/drink and soak up the atmosphere, or, take a walk around the old town which won't disappoint, until 2pm. Then you just press the buzzer outside the hotel door and someone will come down to let you in and check you in.

I did not like the tiny bed my husband and I shared. I did not like the breakfast.

Verified reviewThe location was fantastic close to all the places you would want to visit in Verona. We went to the opera and it was a five minute walk away. Our room was large with a very comfortable bed and nice en suite. It had air conditioning and was very quiet. Nick was amazing, a wonderful host and he told us everything we wanted to know.

Verified reviewI had a wonderful stay in this lovely B&B. Rooms were spatious and supeclean, bed was comfortable. Room airconditioning and wifi were working perfectly. A small boiler and a mini fridge were available, together with coffee and tea bags. Each room has a different character and is named after an Italian opera! I stayed in room number 8, "Tourandot" and I loved it. Bear in mind that the elevator is small and slow (it is an hydraulic one), but this was the only way this old building could have an elevator. I personally enjoyed the procedure. Special thanks to the Italian young man that welcomed us when we checked in (unfortunately we do not remember his name). He was so kind to wait for us for a late check-in outside his working hours and to give us every detail about the property and about what to do and where to eat in Verona. Also, location is PERFECT in every way, in the middle of the old city and 50 metres from Arena di Verona. I will definitely book here in case I will visit Verona again 😊😎💖
Check-in hours are very limited (2-6pm), but you can contact the property beforehand and see what it can be done. Also, breakfast starts at 8.30am, this made it impossible for me as I was there for a conference starting at 8:45 every morning. But some things can be arranged, like sandwiches to pickup. Overall, just minor discomforts for us and not deal-breakers, as staff is always willing to go the extra mile for you.
