How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewGreat location with private paid parking overlooking the sea, very near the steps going to Minori or climbing to Ravello. Hostess and staff were fabulous! Breakfast was excellent, housekeeping great and small kitchen available if we needed it.
Hot tub was not really operational, but we did not ask to use it either, if we had asked, I am sure she would have gotten it together.

Verified reviewVery Misleading Booking. Nowhere near Ravello town at all. It’s basically part of the town of Minori. The majority of the positive Reviews are definitely fabricated/falsified. I’m here and no way do they represent this place accurately. 1.Rooms are right over a very loud, dangerous, and busy road. The noise kept us awake for most of the night so we barely got sleep. The noise echoes off of the cement walls making it deafeningly loud. I stayed in Florence/Rome on busy streets and this was way louder. See pics from front door and room 2.The road itself is very dangerous to walk on. Huge trucks and tour buses drive by within a 1/2 meter right out of the front door next to a blind corner. 2.You must pay 20 Euro for parking each night if you have a car, which is the only comfortable way to travel to Ravello town. No public bus. Even if you choose to park at this location, it’s very dangerous to do so with the narrow street and blind corner. 3.The only way to the town of Ravello is a 1500 stair (400 meter elevation change) hike, personal car (must pay to park at stay), or a prohibitively expensive taxi each way. All of the buses were totally full from Minori every time, so that wasn’t an option. 4.Hot tub is lukewarm water and the host discouraged using it. No hot tub. False advertisement. 5.Host requested the city tax immediately upon arrival. I also received 2 emails immediately to pay as well. This leads me to believe that people were so angry from being scammed by this place, they refused to pay the city tax and left. I don’t blame them. 6.The lobby had a very moldy, musty smell. Probably not safe to breath in the air. 7.The shower attachment holder was loose so you have to hold it the whole time while taking a shower. Also, the shower fixture attached to the wall was broken, with water shooting through screwed areas. Water barely got hot. 8.Breakfast was a woman in a bad mood that asked for espresso and egg preference.
Dear Mark, I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at my B&B. An experienced traveler like you should know that the reviews made on Booking.com are made only by those who have actually stayed and are completely independent of the host. In fact, this is a direct management, otherwise I could have removed your negative review, which obviously I cannot do. This is to tell you that I do not like that you say that my reviews are false. If you have any doubts about this, you can contact Booking.com and have confirmation of the fact that no one can alter or modify either the score or the reviews. Let's get to your arguments: 1. my rooms are on the road, it's true, but at night there is absolutely no traffic and therefore you can sleep peacefully. As for the location, the customer before booking generally goes on Google Maps and checks the location of the property (I think it works like this in California too!). 2. You claim that the road is dangerous, I inform you that this is the focal point of the Amalfi Coast as it is considered one of the most beautiful and panoramic roads in the world. Perhaps it is not as safe as you mean since it does not have sidewalks but is used every day by thousands of pedestrians who with due care walk, jog, even with children in strollers and therefore feel safe. In the rest of the curves there are mirrors, just look. 2.BIS the garage has a cost because it is a closed garage and I assure you that in all hotels or B&Bs it is paid at least in this area, another thing is if a structure has an outdoor parking lot and can park cars for free. I assure you that my closed garage has hosted cars worth € 100,000 and people felt safe, this service has a price. I do not quite understand your point, since you did not even have a car; it is your right to pass judgment on things that you have had the opportunity to experience not on hypothetical things. I assure you that my customers have never complained about my garage. This makes me doubt that you wanted to find negative things at all costs even about things that you have not experienced in your experience. So just as you question my reviews, I can also question the sincerity of yours. 3. It is not true that there are no buses to reach the center of Ravello, you could have taken them from Amalfi where the terminus is and you would have definitely gotten on board. Or there are taxi and shuttle services. I have no power over this either, if the services do not work well or the taxis are expensive. I sell rooms, I do not deal with road safety or public transport! 4. my hot tub works very well, the water was 36 degrees, which is the maximum allowed. The climate was not good but the water was hot, after all the tub is a hot tub not a sauna. You drove me crazy for 3 days and you never immersed yourself. 5. I invite you to read the messages that you received, I did not send them but Booking and the municipality of Ravello because when the data is entered into the system (within 24 hours of arrival) the form automatically sends a receipt to the customer. Why do you say that I sent them? On what basis? I assure you that all my customers pay the tourist tax, precisely because it is a tax and in Italy there is a penalty if someone does not do it. I inform you that in almost 20 years of activity I have seen many customers and 99.9% of them are absolutely happy to have stayed in my B&B, otherwise I would have already closed. I do not accept that people talk about fraud with respect to my work, what you wrote is really not nice. I work honestly and seriously, I do not scam anyone! 6. the smell you say you smell in the hall was due to the fact that as soon as you arrived you did the laundry and put clotheslines in the room and on the balcony, hanging out the laundry of an entire vacation and creating humidity. I'm sorry that in this place it is not possible to add photos, if you want I can send them to you by email! If you had a problem with the shower you just had to say so and I would have fixed it. Simply. 8. You and my breakfast lady had a lot of laughs, I was there, so it doesn't seem like she was in a bad mood. Of course she asked you what kind of eggs you wanted or what kind of coffee, it's her job. I don't understand this point. I repeat that the 9.4 Booking.com review makes me proud and makes me proud to do my job well and to stay in a beautiful place loved by everyone. For the rest ... you can't please everyone. Your insinuations are truly mean and without any foundation. I continue on my way, certain that I will never meet her again. Good life.

Verified reviewThe room was spacious with good storage and window looking out over the ocean and coastline. Excellent air conditioning. The Breakfasts were absolutely delicious! Table with buffet style Fresh fruit, baked goods, bread and toaster, a cooler with fruit juices, water, butter and yogurt. Coffee made fresh to order, eggs made to order, and all served with a wonderful smile and attitude by Lisa and the owner Trofimena!

Verified reviewTrofi and the staff were nice and the location was great for access to Minori. The main terrace was nice with lovely views. After we checked out Trofi kindly let us relax on this terrace for a couple of hours whilst we waited for our ferry.
The bedroom was directly on a busy road so it was difficult to sleep, with scooters, busses, & cars driving late into the night and from early morning. Also, the room was not the same as the one described when I booked - it was smaller, with no dining table, and there was no possibility to move to another room matching the booking description.

Verified reviewClean nice room. Great comfortable shower. A window with amazing view. Tea kettle, and a microwave in the hallway is nice to have. The guest terrace where they serve breakfast has the most gorgeous view and invites you to sit, relax and enjoy it.
It's a bit of a hike up some stairs and a walk on a side of a intercity road. The door into the apartment is also right on the road. A bit tricky, have to be careful crossing the road.
