Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA slight isuue with TV channels. The wifi code did not function. I think I was confused about which code to use. I only stayed one night so it was fine. I was allowed to leave my luggage in the room as I had arrived early. However on checkout you can leave luggage in storage but there was a charge, On bookings.com it showed luggage storage is provided but did not indicate a charge. It would be nice to include luggage storage with the price of the room. There was no breakfast included but that was fine as many cafes closeby.
Refrigerator in the room The location was good as it was close to the historic centre. Bed and pillows were comfortable. It was a very quiet room and very safe for solo travellers. The host was very accomodating and managed to change my room and offer a room in the historic centre so much easier to get around Naples. Will definitely stay there again as it was an ideal location. Staff were friendly.

FranceOne of the empty plant pots on the balcony was full of cigarette butts. The room was functional but defintely lacked charm. It was a bit noisy in the early mornings: being on the 1st floor the rubbish collects etc woke us up each morning, I think around 6 or 6:30am.
The location is great, so central to the old town. We had a balcony overlooking a lovely square. The room was large and super clean. The bed was super comfortable.

South KoreaI was expecting to stay in Vico dei Panettieri,2 but when I arrived I had to stay in Via S. Giovanni in Porta, 29. It was still close to Museo and Duomo station so I am not upset about it.
The building looked old outside but inside was cozy. It had several locks so I felt safe staying there.

CanadaAir conditioning shut off every two hours so anyone who isn't used to heat has to get out of bed several times per night to reset the room power. Also the cleaners are noisy from 9.30am and there is no Do Not Disturb sign.
Great hotel with a large room, a giant jacuzzi tub, and a balcony overlooking a fun street. Fantastic location and check in was easy.

IsraelI was booking the room right before checking in on the same day. I arrived to the address on booking, after some time they got me to the guy speaking English who did the check in. First thing, they charged me 5€ city tax for one night (instead of 2,5€) - cash obviously. And then they went to show me my room which was located at some totally different address from the one they have on booking, also pretty central but a bit farther from the station. At 8 PM the power went out in the whole building for like 25 minutes but I got pretty nervous whether they’re gonna fix it soon because it was February and without working AC it’s too cold in the room. Also it was my mistake to book such a spacious apartment in winter - it was taking too long to warm the whole space with the AC. Also outside the building looks like it’s crying for renovations. My most expensive stay of 6 in Italy
The room is pretty central and very spacious. Looks recently renovated. Clean and nice. Bathroom is also nice and spacious with all the towels/shampoos etc. I was contacting the stuff through WhatsApp and they were responsive. Wi-Fi was very good (which was good since my mobile internet didn’t have any signal in the building at all and when there was power outage in the building I had to go outside to contact the stuff). The room itself is definitely picture perfect. Very convenient checkout with just leaving the key on the table in the hall. They also could provide option to store baggage after the checkout for additional price

AustriaThe bed was kind of a disaster. There was a plastic wrap underneath the sheets that made sounds with every movement and the mattresses weren't staying in place. When you lay in the middle they just slip away.
The location of the accommodation is perfect for sightseeing per foot. The staff was really nice and helpful.

SwitzerlandMinor issue: the room is a bit dark if stores are closed, and a bit noisy otherwise. We got a discounted rate, which made this B&B good value for money. Otherwise, it would have been too expensive for what it is.
Perfectly located in the historical center of Napoli. Landmarks and restaurants at walking distance. Easy self check-in and communication with the owners. Excellent cleanliness of the room - daily cleaning is much appreciated.

IndiaThe caretaker Victor took us to a different place than the original address. This new place was a little ahead of the location that we exactly wanted. Plus we requested a room with 2 single beds. Got the one with a double bed. The wifi stopped working at night and didn't work after that. The flush in the toilet was not working fine. 1 hour before the check-out we asked Victor if we can extend our check-out by one hour but he straightaway refused it saying the room was booked for other people. Considering the month, the low season and the bad rain in the morning i believe 1 hour extension was certainly possible but the guy wouldn't approve it. Overall a decent place but some things definitely should have been better.
The price for which I got the room.

SwedenIt was very impersonal we met someone for like two minutes who stopped by to look at a lock, appart from that all communication was via whatsapp and quite short. That was it for our whole 4 day stay. My impression was that there would be a cafe in the same house as we would stay in (the annex) where we would get breakfast (coffee&croissant) but this did not exist and we never heard anything of it while there. The bed linnen and bed in general left a lot to ask for, however, we got a good deal staying here and feel happy about our stay. The double bed was made of two madrasses next two each other leaving a gap in the middle of the bed. I'm quite sure the pictures we saw while booking was of a different room? Which didnt matter that much to us, but I was expecting it to look more like a hotel room than a separate apartment.
The room was a full appartment with kitchen and a little dining table with space for four two sleep. Very spacious. Frictionless communication with staff via whatsapp. Location was great with all the restaurants close by but still very quiet. The "annex" is a completely separate builing (or several?) a block away from the b&b and the feeling is more that of staying in a commercial airb&b-appartment which worked well for us but was not what I was expecting.
