How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff was very helping, polite and nice. Property and its facilities are far better than many 4 star hotels.
If you are able to hike then it is not at problem to get to the property. 3- 4 minutes of stairs walk to get to the property that could not be avoided.

Verified reviewAt first, we were very surprised by the location. We had not read enough to know that the hotel was situated high above the town of Positano. We chose to walk down the path/stairs that led down to the road and into the town. It was a bit exhausting, but since we did it every day, we got better and better at going down and up again. The advantage of being above the town is that it is completely quiet and very romantic. For those who do not wish to walk, there is a bus that runs back and forth from the town to a stop 200 meters from the hotel. The breakfast was lovely and prepared every morning. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the communication via WhatsApp was quick and very helpful if we had questions about our stay. We recommend visiting the hotel.

Staff are young and obviously not very experienced. We were kept waiting for 15 minutes in the heat outside the property after letting them know we had arrived via booking.com messaging, WhatsApp’ing them and calling them on arrival. We had told them what time our ferry was arriving before hand too. The girl who overlooked breakfast was pleasant enough but no interaction with guests, and on her phone all the time. Tomatoes at breakfast were never washed. Which they really should have been. There are 94 steps to get to the first small path to make your way towards the bus etc. the steps around the property and on the way to the bus station should not be underestimated. The bus service is only hourly, this inconvenience should also not be underestimated, especially with the hot summers. The bus gets very crammed beyond what should be allowed from a health and safety point of view. The local mini market was so run down, although the lady who ran it was very sweet. We heard alot of younger couples (we are 50 years old) complaining about all the above too so it’s not an age thing. The stairs and luggage are another challenge of their own.

Verified reviewThe girls serving the breakfast were very nice. They decorated our room for my partner’s birthday. The room had kitchen facilities
We were misled about the location. We were NOT in Positano. We had to walk 200 hundred steps to catch the bus down to Positano OR walk 2,000 steps downhill from our place to the town. Which we did and really wrecked my husband’s knee. It’s advertised as being in Positano but it’s NOT it’s located in Nocelle, 2,000 steps uphill away.

bathroom had mold, the beds were the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, WIFI did not work, A/C did not work, no hot tub as advertised. No staff to assist. It is down A LOT of steps and 30 minutes away from Positano. I do not recommend. Definitely not the romantic getaway I was hoping for!!

Verified reviewWe came back for the view and it didn’t disappoint. We first visited Nocelle for our honeymoon in 2022, and the beauty of this place, especially looking at Positano from a peaceful distance, left such an impression on us. While we love Positano, we prefer not being in the middle of the hustle and bustle, which is why Nocelle is our perfect spot. This time, we noticed there was a different staff team. While they were lovely and accommodating, we missed the personal touch we experienced during our first visit, which had contributed to us coming back. It’s not that the new staff were bad at all - just that the experience wasn’t quite as personal as we remembered.
Nothing

The staff was very friendly and the breakfast, including the cappuccino, was delightful! This beautiful slice of paradise was a welcome retreat from the bustling crowds of Positano below!

Verified reviewBeautiful property in Nocelle— easy trek to positano and gorgeous views. Yummy breakfast, welcoming staff, very quiet
The b&b is about 30-40 minutes by shuttle from Positano and the shuttle becomes very crowded. It’s difficult to find a seat and the shuttle only comes hourly.

The room is very old with mold on the walls in the room as well as mold in the shower. The tiles on the floor is broken as well as the handle of the cupboard is broken. When sitting outside, they places a soiled mattress on the handrail right above us.

Verified reviewThe view was amazing and the staff is very helpful with the luggage or making arrangement for transportation.
The property is in the hills and very remote, if you are looking for quiet time and want to be away from the City it a perfect place to stay with an amazing view and a couple of restaurants nearly.
