Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAs a solo traveller relying on public transport, it was not ideal to get around, but it was doable. The hotel was up the mountain from Bolzano, but cable car makes it possible to get into town (after trekking halfway up the mountain). If you are planning a stay, I recommend having a car for sure, but the peacefulness and views of the hotel made the long journeys to the popular hikes worth it. The service though was amazing, and the entire staff was so generous.
The food at Bad St Isidor is really incredible. I highly recommend having breakfast and dinner at the hotel for the convenience and also the exceptional quality of the meals. Some of the best food I've had in a long time, all with a beautiful view of the mountains and Bolzano.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaVery accommodating staff provided us with all the necessary information. The location is very peaceful and quiet, ideal for getting some rest from busy city life. It also makes a great starting point for beautiful hikes, with the surrounding nature waiting to be explored. The views from both the dining room and the terrace are breathtaking; they truly set the scene for a relaxing meal. The food is delicious, with a great selection of locally sourced produce for breakfast and an optional dinner. We can’t recommend the dinner option enough; it’s a perfect way to end a day of exploring. The food is simple, represents the region, it is well thought through, greatly executed and ballanced.

IsraelMay need to think about improving the Wi-Fi quality - it was not stable in our room, while it worked fine in public areas.
I'm not sure if I should leave another positive review when there are already so many. But I simply want to express my gratitude to the hosts for their warm welcome, comfortable rooms, and especially for the delicious dinners and breakfasts. This was our second time here, and we will definitely stay again if we're in the Bolzano area. My advice to future guests: if you decide to stay there, be sure to choose the option with dinners.

United KingdomOnly two very minor things to note, the beds are a bit on the short side (I'm tall!) and the WiFi and mobile network coverage is a bit spotty at times, but still functional and let's face it, you shouldn't be coming to Bad St. Isidor to be connected 24/7.
The food at Bad St. Isidor is amazing. Elevated home cooking, and in a lovely space. The innkeepers are very welcoming and helpful. The location is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay - perfect. Also highly recommend driving over to the cable car and using that to commute into Bozen if needed, plus if you stay enough nights you get the Sudtirol card and transit is included.

GermanyThe walls are thin, if the next door neighbor is noisy then you will hear everything from your room.
The view from the hotel is spectacular and the homely feel you get from the staff, the Bolzano card, the dinner was tasty and different every evening…. Totally worth it

AustraliaI am SO happy with my stay here. This family run hotel is an oasis among the mountains. The half board option is incredible and the food was delicious. I really should have booked more time here. The best part is you feel at home. Thank you so much. Couple of things to note; If you’re not driving that’s ok! The taxi will be 30euro from the train station and the hotel gives you a transit card to catch the cable car down and then the bus is only 2 mins to the centre. You can also access Lake Carezza by the 180 bus at the bus station next to the train.

United KingdomIt would be good to pay attention to impact of cigarette smoke on nonsmoking guests. We got smoke in our room from a nearby guest when we had the window open. It was hot weather so this was a bit of a problem.
Evening meals were excellent, swimming pool was lovely

IndonesiaPlease note that we have to use Kohlern cable car to go up the mountain, and from there still about 3 km down the road. So for a solo traveler without car like me, better you call the hotel to pick and bring you to the cable car. If I can suggest, maybe it will be very good for the hotel to provide shuttle bus. But anyway, the owner always ready when we call them.
A perfect stay along my trip. The location is perfect, in the middle of the mountain, thus the view was perfect. All the property was very clean, glowing, like I didn't want to make it dirty. And I got the view as well from the bathroom. And of course delicious food for breakfast and dinner. This is a family owned hotel, and they managed themselves, and all of them was so kind, Bernie, Dorris, and also Pietro. They always kind to bring and pick me from the cable car. Perfect.

United StatesThe furnishings were a touch dated but we didn't mind as the room was quiet and comfortable.
The hotel staff and restaurant staff were exceptional. My wife is a vegetarian and they prepared wonderful meals for her. The setting was great, the room comfortable. We enjoyed the included Bolsena pass, we rode the gondola into town and took the bus to the Iceman museum--all fees included with the pass. We wish we had stayed longer. Danke

United KingdomLack of choice for dinner and inflexible serving time - just one ‘sitting’ at 1930. Location peaceful in the hills above Bolzano but isolated and with a tiresome winding road for access.
