Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandArriving to see how rundown the exterior was was quite shocking. The pool is not included in the price of the stay and they charge for swim hats. Dinner was very expensive. Needs a whole revamp. Had to ask for toilet paper foe the bathrooms near the restaurant. Its just about ok for a night before heading to cruise. There are 2 hotels connected so you aren't sure if you are on the grounds or across the road.
The rooms was spacious. Close to the port for going on a cruise. Staff were very nice. Nice pizzeria around the corner. Great view of the sea and ladder into the sea

PortugalIt all needs urgent care and work. Sadly, such a nice property in such a good location became tired and worn out due to an obvious lack of maintenance throughout the years. It's somewhat sad to see.
The location and the property in itself are fantastic.

United States1. A dog peed on the stair rails by the breakfast, and the lady didn't clean it up. 2. There was mold in the shower 3. the shower sprayer did not work 4. 3 of the 4 lights above the bathroom mirror did not work. 5. The beds were very uncomfortable 6. The location sucked... too far from city center 7. The beach/pool area was dirty, old, run-down and the outside shower was old rusty, and unkept.
The view at dinner time was fantastic, but the staff was crabby about me wanting to sit out ther to have a drink at 6:30 when I was told the bard had opened.

United KingdomWe had booked a room with a large double bed. We got a room with 3 singles. Really struggled to open the door as frame was broken and coming away from the wall! The shower was broken and filthy. The toilet flush was hanging off the wall. The floor was filthy. I complained and got upgraded to a room with a sea view and balcony. It was in the main hotel, it was a bit cleaner than the first but the TV had no signal and the fridge done a good job of keeping things warm. In all honesty the whole place needs refurbishing.
Leaving it!

United KingdomHad to check in at a different hotel. Once we found the room in a smelly mouldy building, the first impression was that it was okay, then we saw what we had let ourselves in for. The room was old dilapidated and the bathroom was smelly. There was a safe in the room, which we were told we couldn’t use. Then I dropped some coins and when I went to retrieve them under the bed, there was a used condom. If my wife had found it, I don’t know what would have happened. That was the final straw. I tried to contact the property management, but there is no way you can do that. I trekked back to the other hotel and was given a room in that building. Clean but once again very dilapidated. You have to pay 10 Euros per day to use the pool and you have to buy a swimming cap, which they say is compulsory. I am bald, I have more hair on my chest than on my head. The bathroom is mouldy and the shower screen leaks. Each day we put towels on the floor to soak up the water. The shower was broken, in that you could only use the handheld attachment. The basin plug didn’t work. The patio doors were falling apart, a safety issue. Once again the safe didn’t work. The gentleman on the desk that changed our room was very helpful, the rest couldn’t be interested. We had to get away from the hotel, so we booked a night in another hotel to be able to relax and feel better. The lady that cleans the room does a fantastic job, but I feel sorry for her. We asked for a taxi at reception to go to the station. It is 2 kilometres and he charged us 20 Euros. Robbery Breakfast was good and the lady waiting on at breakfast was helpful.
