Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaRagusa Ibla is a hilltop town and there are many stairs to the property, which is not easy to find. The breakfast arrangements were slightly confusing and the offering was very basic.
It was tastefully decorated and comfortable. We stayed in the room with the rooftop terrace which we loved and made the most of. The property is operated as a bed and breakfast and we enjoyed meeting other guests at breakfast.

Maltaonly downside. Parking, is not so close. I had the impression that it was easy to park but its not. We used San Paolo. If you are traveling with luggage you have to use a lot of stairs to go to the parking, but Ibla, is full of stairs and up hills. Having said this, I would recommend this place to every one.
This place is amazing. Clean, bright, airy, modern, large bathrooms and comfortable rooms, with a BEAUTIFUL view. I can not stress how beautiful the view is enough, we had sunny days and rainy days and in both instances the view was amazing. The AC works well and the room had ample of space for storage. Giusy, the owner, who we didn't meet, communicated very well with us and gave us guidance on restaurants and some information about the area. Her communication is very good, and she makes very good cakes that she leaves in the kitchen for you to enjoy. Extremely welcoming. Concetta, the house carer, is an extremely nice lady and was very helpful and prepared breakfast for us. Grazzie Concetta, sei grande!! The kitchen, which is shared by the 3 rooms, is really pretty and you feel at home. Giusy leaves food for you, tea, cofee, cakes, ham, cheese, jams and spreads, bread, fruit etc which you can enjoy. Amazing

United KingdomIt would have given the guests great flexibility if there was a washing machine or laundry facilities.
This is a Boutique B & B housed in a beautifully renovated old house overlooking a stunning mountain scenery. Host Giusy personally welcomed us to the property, showed us around, and took our preferences for the freshly prepared breakfast over our days of stay. This is an exceptional touch that shows care and interest rather than just a common self check-in arrangement. The property itself is clean, well equipped, and looking brand new with quality fixtures and fittings, again a testaments to the caring nature and attention to details in handling the restoration project from the start. Well recommended, and if we are back in the area, we will definitely stay there again.

ItalyI had the pleasure of staying at Balate during my trip in Sicily. The location is perfect to discover Ragusa Ibla, It is a few minutes away from the main square. The building is completely restored in an elegant and comfortable style. From my room there was an amazing view to the downtown. The breakfast was abundant and served with local products and fresh baked cakes. Finally my stay in Balate has been pleasant and enjoyable

BrazilWe had issues with internet (it did not worked at all, but they told us it never happened before), the living room is in the same area of the kitchen (not so cosy) and just one pillow/person.
The neighborhood was great. Everything you need very close. The owner let us a bottle of wine to welcome us. The coffee was great. Clean and nice.

RomaniaThe accommodation is located in the old town of Ragusa ( Ibla - the antic area ). We stayed in Foresteria room ( ground floor with an external door also ). The view is to the forest ( is not so spectacular), and around are many abandoned houses ( the way to the house is very strange and creepy at evening/night). Also, around are few airbnb/ accommodations with no guests, and the atmosphere can be cringe. In our first evening we discovered that the entire house was empty ( the owner didn’t tell us that we will be alone, just after we wrote to them and also the kitchen was a mess after previous guests). All of this happened in our honeymoon and the atmosphere wasn’t very pleasant. We tried to discuss our early leave with the owner and Giorgia, but they didn’t gave us any relevant response, just a “seen”.
Very clean, with modern furniture.

IsraelThe apartment was advertized with own private kitchen, coffee and tea machines, cooking facilities etc etc. Unfortunately it is untrue, the only kitchen is a central one outside the room in which breakfast was supplied. We pointed this out and asked host to update listing, she did not seem that bothered and no apology or explanation was offered. Another problem relates to accessability: although our room was on ground floor we still had to negotiate a flight of steps to access the alley in which apartment is situated. It is true that Ragusa is very hilly but you can still negotiate it without steps. We feel owner should mention those steps. Finally there was a slight damp smell that bothered only one of us (couple).
The hosts were very helpful, they sent dear Erico to help us with luggage and parking on arrival and again to help with luggage on departure. They also made an effort to suit breakfast to our diet requirments. Our room was large and well lit and the double bed was good.
