Host was very accommodating letting us leave our motorbike right outside. Lovely views of lake from our room and the restaurant.

Because of the higher location you definitely need a car. But it is not really a disadvantage. Breakfast could be a bit better. It is not much but please...not only white bread...even in Italy they have better bread. Maybe I should have asked for it!? Müsli is fine but of course only cornflakes are not very healthy. The rest is fine!

Great view! Dinner in the hotel is very good and the prices reasonable. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable. The also make a very coffee!

The hotel was great! Just make sure you have a ride from the train station.

The owner, David, was exceptional. He helped us with many things. The view was fantastic. The food was very good. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was eager to make us happy. We are going back!

The location and view are amazing. The breakfast and dinners were great. The ownership/staff was delightful. We will definitely stay there again soon. Just be sure to have a ride from the train station. Taxis are not always available.

Very basic furnished rooms. Basic linnen. No foot rugs at bed. No kettle or coffee in room.

Fantastic venue for Lago Orta. Views to die for!!!! Brilliant staff - thanks David. Free parking close by at church. Nice meals at restaurant with good prices Breakfast was beyond expectation with scrambled eggs included. Bed was soft but good.

We really enjoyed the whole experience. We have a car which allowed us to easily explore the area. You can walk downhill into the beautiful Orta village from the hotel but it'll take at least an hour back.

Excellent welcoming team. Amazing views over Lake Orta. Very nice breakfast with lots of options. Had an excellent dinner one night too. Parking was free at the adjacent church.(Don't know what it's like to park on a Sunday but off road parking too if necessary). Great War memorabilia on display too.

There is NOT one thing an anybody could be negative about…super super hotel and staff.. full of charm and character and clean as a pin. The views are simply mind blowing! The very best hotel ! And the very best owner and staff! Simply the bestn10 out of 10

Why this hotel has a 2 star rating is ridiculous. We have stayed in all sorts of hotels worldwide and the Battle of Britain exceeded our expectations in every way. From the staff, room size, breakfast and dinner, atmosphere, charm, atmosphere and last but not least the VIEWS over the lake took our breath away. The owner,,David is an exceptionally generous host in every way. We were so Impressed we tried to rejig our three month tour to be able to return for a week. Come on booking.com..do the right thing for a GENIUS member and reassess this brilliant hotel! P.s. best steak we have had since leaving Brisbane ..together with the best breakfast for a very minimal price!

We stayed at the Battle of Britain for only one night as a stopover as we drove around Europe - it was exceptionally good value and a great place to stay. Parking at the church was hassle free. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, the room was comfortable and had a lovely view of the lake. The restaurant was superb - we enjoyed some delicious pasta dishes and the breakfasts were great too. Lake Orta is definitely worth a visit - a beautiful place to visit.

The room was a bit tight, especially the bathroom. However, this was made up for by the fact that the shower was very spacious.

Great location, friendly staff, breathtaking views of the lake in the morning and evening. Affordable and tasty food. Also the proprietor can speak English and French.

The hotel is located in a really nice area facing lake d'Orta from the top. Amazing views from the property and from the room (if you book one facing the lake). The breakfast is nice and served in the main dining area again facing the lake. The room itself looks a bit old but it was comfortable. The bathroom is well equipped. No air conditioning but a fan was provided.

This is really a great hotel. Rooms are sober but ok; what is really special, however, is the grand view over the lake from the dining room. And the dinner itself, which is great value for money. Furthermore, the host is very friendly and forthcoming

You really need a car to stay here if you want to be spending time in the San Giuilo township. It is a 40-minute walk down the mountain (which is very scenic), but the walk up the mountain would be at least twice that. I had to take a taxi every day to get back up the mountain which cost an extra 20 Euro a day.

The room was nice and clean, a good size and with a lovely view out the window. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was quick and delicious.
