How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great location a few min walk from the Cathedral, on a very quiet and surprisly clean street. Good breakfast included in the price. Would definately reccomend and more than happy to be back.

Communication was a little difficult as we do not speak Italian and the person for contact did not speak English. A little noisy but overall not bad.
Breakfast was onsite and Manuela (who could speak very good English) was lovely and super helpful. Good selection of food and drink. We found free parking a couple blocks away in the piazza.

We had an amazing stay at Federico Secondo B&B apartment! The place was super nice and comfortable, and the owner went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. They were extremely helpful and even agreed to change our room during the stay, which was very accommodating. The breakfast provided was delicious, and every part of our experience was positive. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again! Thank you for the excellent hospitality!

Slightly noisy from the maids in the morning and wifi a bit hit and miss.
Lovely room, very comfortable bed and great staff! Breakfast was also delicious!

There are no windows to the outside so it wouldn't suit you for more than a night or two. Everything that was within the owner's control was very good.
Good value for money. Great location. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and we were well looked after. The air conditioning was effective.

Instructions for AC etc. 2 flights of stairs was more like 4 flights so 60 stairs to room! Elevator was not working or not available to use…
Breakfast was wonderful! The signora was very nice! And food was delicious!

The location is very central, in the old town of Palermo, as well as on a very safe and quiet street. The room is incredible spacious and clean. They even clean the room and make the bed everyday. The breakfast was great, they even provided me glutenfree and lactosefree options. The staff is incredible helpful about everything. I can not reccomend this B&B enough! We had a great time!

The property was nicer than expected. The room was very clean, the location was great and very central and the breakfast was good. The room was cleaned everyday with new supplies and towels. The staff was super nice ! I recommend

Breakfast was nice to have in the building each morning. There was some street noise, but given the location this wasn't unexpected or excessive. Vincenzo and his staff made it easy for us to get a cab to the airport on check-out, and were accommodating to us non-Italian speakers. The room was large and very clean.

The bed is bit soft, but we all have different needs when it comes to sleep.
The location of this property is excelent, near to Palermo cathedral and Capo market. We had great breakfast and also were provided gluten free options. Staff is very helpful and polite.

All was great, just one small note: because of the plastic on the mattress, we couldn’t sleep well. We were sliding and sweating whole night. Understand that it is for hygienic reasons, but not comfortable.
Very clean, in the old district, nice rooms, very nice staff.

Parking is a bit difficult. Cheap breakfast.
