How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Great location - a perfect base for exploring Rome! The metro, train station, and public transport are just around the corner, so it's easy to get anywhere in the city. The host was very kind and helpful, and the place itself was clean and well-kept. I definitely recommend it!

I would have liked a seperate minifridge in the room.
Location was better than good. 5min walk from Roma Termini station. When you get out of the building you have to be carefull not to drop to the metro..it is right there! Owner was extremely helpfull and welcoming and also provided helpfull tips about the area. Room was clean and tidied every day. Fridge and microwave in the commonarea. TV to practise italian.

The doors to the kitchen / common room are not that sealed, so you can hear the other people. Expecially when they open the door and close it. The keys have a metal plate which made it even noisier. But it'S only a minor problem. A possible improvement could be to change the metal cards to plastic.
The B&B is really nice and the communication with the owner is very good. We had the option to choose between two rooms and we decided for the silence one to the inner side. The room was very clean & meet all our expectations for a short sightseeing weekend in Rome. The location is very good next to the metro station & the main train station Termini. We will book again, when we will do another rome trip.

It was all good!
Location near the main train station and a metro stop was perfect for access to the airport, coast and city centre sights. 10 minutes walk to main station and 2 mins to metro stop. Very nice restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Very well looked after apartment with attentive and helpful hosts.

The bed and linens could have been more comfortable. They were just OK.
Great location, use of kitchen facilities, and very clean. James was super helpful and took the time to share a map with us and highlight restaurants to go to.

This was a brilliant location and a very comfortable and clean space. We loved being within walking distance to Roma Termini, a park, a mini mart and several eating places. The manager, Romina, was extremely helpful and friendly. I also loved being able to open the window above the street and watch the world go by.

Room was really comfortable but we are not great fans of a shared kitchen/central area with 3 other rooms.
Location was excellent, a little noisy but you would expect that as you are in a really central “happening” area.

The common area could be problematic for some guests.
Our room was comfortable. The common area kitchen was well appointed and usually not occupied by other guests. The host gave us a comprehensive orientation in excellent English and his recommendations for visits and food locations were very helpful. He was responsive to our questions after hours. The location was excellent for our needs. Don't miss the ice cream store !

All worked well. Maybe the hosts could leave out a few brochures about Rome and places to eat locally, but not a big issue.
We enjoyed the small extras - fruit teas and biscuits available.. also having the kitchen facility accessible in addition to our room.

The hospitality of the owners is great! I like our appartment a lot! It was cozy and clean. I could also have my morning coffee, which was delicious. Perfect location. If I am back, I would like to stay in the same place.

Some other guests locked the wrong lock on their way out one day and we were almost locked inside! We managed to figure it out and unlock the door. Otherwise, everything was great!
The location was perfect for us--close enough to walk just about everywhere but far enough away that there were no big crowds. We loved exploring the neighbourhood and local parks. We did not plan on spending much time in the room, so we didn't need anything fancy but we were happy for a comfortable bed and kitchen space with a fridge for storing cold food. Also, we received good suggestions at check in--don't miss G. Fassi, the oldest gelato factory in Italy! (Much better price than anywhere else we found and the gelato was aaaahhhhmazing!)

I think the airconditioning is broken as it only stays in the fan option. However, it still keeps the room cool.
Good communication with the host. The room was big and so was the bathroom. There’s a metro literally right outside the door. Close to the Termini station and have lots of amenities around the area. The rooms are very clean and would love to stay here again.

The room was very clean and spacious. The location was very close to the train station. Lovely host at the accommodation. She recommended local restaurants and bakery's for us to try in the local area.
