How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewBeautiful setting, especially out on the terrace in the restaurant/bar area overlooking the lake directly. Felt very peaceful away from the tourist bustle in a lot of Lake Garda. Dinner in the restaurant was fabulous.
Room was a little dark, but pleasant with lovely view over water.

Verified reviewYes, the location is simply unbeatable—right on the lake—but I’ll admit, the first thing I always check is parking. Here, it was excellent: private, easy to access, and hassle-free, which immediately set the tone for a relaxing stay. From there, everything only got better. The food was not just delicious but thoughtfully prepared, served by a genuinely friendly team that made us feel like long-time guests. The panoramic views over the lake were nothing short of spectacular, the kind you find yourself staring at long after the plates are cleared. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and—much to my delight—equipped with crisp, cold air conditioning, which is not something you can always count on in Italy. The pool area was lovely, yet the real luxury was stepping into the pristine lake, watching the ferries glide gracefully across the water as the sun set. For golfers, there’s an unexpected treat—a charming course just a mile away that warmly welcomes hotel guests. I highly recommend taking a cart and savoring the scenery as much as the round itself. All in all, this hotel is a rare gem, the kind of place you stumble upon once and then vow to return to for years to come.

Verified reviewThe hotel is situated on the shore of the lake and has a beautiful garden where meals are served. The room is spacious and has a comfortable bed. The breakfast was truly delightful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a private beach, swimming pool and a car park ( really matters in Italy).

Extremely rude staff. We never felt so unwanted! The person at the reception should work in the army but not in hospitality. Breakfast is from 8:00 to 10:00 We arrived at 7:50 and were aggressively asked to leave. Unbelievable. The whole treatment of the owners was bizarre as guests were a burden! The rooms are so noisy, you can hear your neighbors literally fart! The mattresses are very uncomfortable. Towels smelled weirdly like cheese or something else. All of them!
You are free to write whatever you want madam, the important thing is that you never come to our hotel again. The reviews of other customers speak for themselves. Rude guests like you with this kind of bad behaviour, are not welcome. You didn’t respect any of the rules of the hotel. In any case, we remind you that the service cameras in our hotel have also recorded you putting your headcap in the owner's face and all the bad words you have addressed to her. Verified reviewAbsolutely stunning views, and on the lake, so you could go into the lake for a swim. Good WiFi and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was great but quite slow.
The room was very sparse (which was fine considering the view) but looked like it could do with some TLC. The lady who checked us in was nice, but some of the other staff were grumpy.

Verified reviewThe hotel itself is beautiful, as an idyllic setting on the lake. The food was delicious also. The hospitality staff in the kitchen at breakfast / lunch were very lovely and helpful, so breakfast was a lovely experience.
The female concierge staff were rude and unhelpful from the beginning of the stay. An example of this was when I had thought I had selected a double bed form my partner and I, they were unaccommodating, told me that it was my issue that I booked the wrong type of room and wouldn't change the bed into a double bed until the next day as the cleaners had gone home - this was at about 3pm. The front desk also accused us of lying that we had received new towels for the lake in our room when we hadn't - made a big fuss to ask the cleaners for the towels and we had to wait 20mins+ for these in the lobby with no offer of bringing them outside to us. We paid 10 euro a day for parking but when coming home after dinner there were no spots left except right near the door - the concierge female staff were intrusive knocking early on our door to move the car - clearly frustrated (but would not have been an issue if there was ample room in the car park). Also there was no iron at the hotel, which is a basic amenity at a hotel. The hospitality staff in the kitchen at breakfast and lunch were very lovely unlike their colleagues, very helpful also so breakfast was a lovely experience. It's a shame as the hotel is lovely, but it feels like if the staff at the front desk don't like you they will make your stay quite uncomfortable.
Egregia Signora Resende, We’re glad that you’ve appreciated our hotel and restaurant. The room that you’ve booked was a two single beds room. We offer our guests the possibility to get a room with a double bed, but we ask to inform us at least a day before the arrival, especially for rooms which are with two single beds. You arrived after 3pm, our cleaners finish their shift at 4pm. We are in the middle of the high season here at Garda Lake, so we’ve got several departures and arrivals every day, which means they’re really busy. We’ve still offered you to prepare your room with a double bed the day following your arrival, even though you hadn’t told us before. We would have also done it that day, even though we weren’t required to do so, but the cleaners were still busy with other rooms and didn’t have enough time to also redo your bed. For what concerns the towels, you told us at the reception that you didn’t have any in your room. We immediately checked and asked the cleaners, who said to us they actually were in your room. We told you; you went to check in your room; came back and told us again that they weren’t there. We checked again and they were still there. We explained to you that our towels for the pool aren’t only the striped ones, but we’ve also got white ones. You insisted that you didn’t have any, so the cleaners took them from your room and brought them to the reception. There you accepted them. That wasn’t a one-time situation, you asked for towels again. At your departure we found in your room 6 used towels for the pool. We consider this an unfair behaviour on your part. We grant our guests one towel per kind per person. If 2 persons get 6 towels, it means that there won’t be enough for other guests. We explain our parking rules in a message we send our guests immediately after the reservation on Booking.com and we explain them all over again during the check-in. Our parking is private and we must have all the car keys at the reception. It’s no problem if a guest can’t find a perfect parking spot, we know that our parking isn’t that big, that’s one of the reasons why we must have all the keys here at the reception, so that in case of necessity we can move all the cars. In your case the car wasn’t well parked and you didn’t leave the car keys here at the reception. So, we had to wake you up to ask you for the keys. The parking isn’t included in our reservation because if a guest doesn’t accept our rules, he’s free to find another parking place and doesn’t have to pay for a service he’s not going to use. In your case you accepted our rules to use the parking, but you still didn’t follow them. Everything that we’ve written in this answer, is explained to our guests in the message we send them after their reservation and is also written in the information paper we give them at the arrival. Verified reviewThe hotel boasts a fantastic location right by Lake Garda, offering stunning views and easy access to water. The breakfast was satisfactory, and the pool was also quite nice, providing a refreshing break. If you are looking for a place with beautiful nature and don’t mind more modest accommodations, this hotel could be a suitable choice for you.
Unfortunately, the quality of the beds was not the best, and the overall room amenities left much to be desired.
