United StatesThere was not one thing I could complain about the hotel or restaurant. The town, however, is very small. This is more of a spot to stay and take day trips from. And enjoy their food at every chance you get!
The hotel is perfect. Literally perfect. It is beautiful, clean, great AC, AMAZING staff. Breakfast was exceptional and dinner was one of the best meals of my life. They have a young husband/wife chef team who are simply stellar at their craft. The restoration work done to this historic building blew me away. It was a passion project of the owner and you could feel the love at every turn.

United KingdomBijou hotel that was more about the restaurant than the rooms. It was a stop on a long journey so we didn’t know. Three Michelin starred chefs working in the kitchen and a fantastic meal. Totally unexpected. The room was more than good. But the food was incredibly good.

Wow! What a beautiful, beautiful little hotel! We visited family in a town close to Borgonovo and we decided to stay in the Borgo Impero hotel. Everything was prefect. I even got to chat with he owner which was an excellent nice gentleman that gave me a tour of the hotel. Employees were extremely friendly and nice. They spoke Italian, English and Spanish. All the installations are very modern, yet, you are in a building that is 1200 years old (old nun convent). Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately the restaurant chef was sick and the restaurant was closed but there are also plenty of options to dine close to the hotel. I understand this was unexpected and it is nobody’s fault. We are planning on coming back next year and hopefully try the restaurant. The place was very safe even coming and going late at night. And I could continue writing, and writing, how confortable we felt. If you are planning on visiting Borgonovo’s surroundings or just making a stop to rest, this is the place to stay.
