Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaBreakfast was just okay, and it was a bit far out of town right on the train line so we could hear trains through the night.
Clean room with friendly staff, we even got a free upgrade.

FranceThe atmosphere was not great. Some clients were smoking weed in the reception/breakfast area at 9am near to all the clients and no one told them to stop. Even the location is not bad, the train pass by the property and you can hear it from the room. The main door remains open during our stay, which did not make us feel so safe.

CanadaOur room was right next to a very active railway and even though the trains sped by quickly they were quite noisy making sleep challenging.
Our room was spacious and well equipped with a view of the sea. Old town was about a 15 minute walk from the property. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. My husband really appreciated the scrambled eggs as we did not have them anywhere else that we stayed. Our host was friendly, accommodating and willing to go the extra mile. A benefit was easy and plentiful street parking away from busy streets and I believe that for a fee you can park on the property behind the locked gate.

ItalyDidn't like having to pay to use the internal parking lot, it should be included in the rate, no other choice where to prk. The room was overlooking the main railway track only a few metres away, however the trains ee not overly noisy and did not disturb us.
The room was comfortable an with a good ocean view panoramic window, Bathroom was spacious with large shower, but did lack a soap and shampoo holder and no grab handle if you had a mobility problem. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best we have had in Sicily in B&B's in this range. A buffet layout with fresh bread and pastries, proper Italian coffee, even fresh squeezed orange juice, plus cooked breakfast available with fresh laid eggs. Not to difficult to find as long as you pay careful attention to your navigator just after you cross the railway track. A little out of town hence the view but easy to get into downtown Catania. Danielle was very friendly n helpful.

SlovakiaBreakfast was excellent, there was a wide selection of food from savory to sweet also fresh coffe was made. Even though the accommodation was above the railway line, it did not disturb our sleep, the environment was peaceful. The location is a little further from the city center, therefore there is time for a walk by the sea.

United KingdomIt's a humble accommodation - a small room with a fridge, TV, air con, and a jacuzzi bath in the bedroom that can be used at certain hours of the day (we didn't because it was such hot weather). We had an ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and bidet. Any problems we had were dealt with quickly. We were informed a few days before our stay that there is no longer a swimming pool - we didn't mind as we prefer the sea, but some people might be disappointed by this. The B&B is a little out of the way and there is no bus service (though there is a small taxi service from town, which isn't cheap) so depending on where you end up you may be walking 20-40 mins back to the accommodation in the evening.
Borgo Marino had a comfy bed, a nice breakfast and good views of Cefalu. Staff were around and generally available when needed, and happy to help. Breakfast was a nice, simple spread, with toast, eggs and coffee on request, fruit, yoghurt, some baked goods, ham and cheese. There's a nice cat that hangs around (there are many in Cefalu!) and some geckos that enjoy basking on the terrace wall. We enjoyed our stay!

United KingdomNo tea making facilities, cooker in room but not connected to gas supply. No corkscrew in room. Window in bathroom provides absolutely no privacy. Passengers in Cars queuing for train crossing can see straight into bathroom. Steps in room are very deep. Walk down to town is along areas with no footpath.
