Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The apartment is isolated from all the amenities, especially, its distance from the airport is 2.6 kilometres, very inconvenient.
The room is spacious, clean and neat.

5 minute drive from the airport. He was very flexible as we were arriving quite late. They also offer airport shuttle which was very nice. We had a very good stay and the staff was so friendly!

The host was very welcoming and accommodating. The small touches, like leaving water in the fridge, were very welcome and unexpected and breakfast was excellent. A great little hotel at a great price.

B&B was very difficult to find without GPS and was located in a shady neighbourhood. No conveniences near by and the area didn't seem safe.
The room/bathroom were fresh, clean, modern and spacious. It was convenient being on ground level with a small patio. We could see Mount Etna from the B&B. The staff were helpful and the breakfast, being continental, was fair. The property was gated so we felt safe.

The location is noisy. People seem to be coming/going at all times. Someone pressed the doorbell forever during the night, wich could be heard also in my room.
Free parking on the premises. Reasonable breakfast included. Room was clean.

The location lacks facilities especially if you do not have a car. No restaurant on site other than breakfast. No elevator also meant that you had to carry luggage up three flights of stairs, this isn’t so bad if you have not so heavy luggage.
This hotel is convenient for a stay over close to the airport in Catania to catch early morning flight. The rooms we’re comfortable and very clean. The air conditioner was welcomed relief from the heat. Hotel had secure parking available.

The location is very good for the airport but there are no restaurants or shops in the immediate area. You will need a car (or use taxis) here.
We wanted accommodation near the airport so we could return our rental car and take a morning flight. The location was fine for that purpose. There is free parking in a secure space on the property. The room was clean, comfortable, and pleasant, and had all the usual facilities. We had a good continental breakfast. We were not disturbed by any aircraft noise though the airport is only 1-2 kilometres away.

I found the bed too soft for me. Poor noise insulation, guests are leaving for the airport at early hours and the noise in the room was too loud. Area around is ... well close to the airport.
Very close to the airport, shuttle waited for us, nice breakfast, very clean room, coffee machine in the room.

The area around the hotel is dull, while the garden around the house was very impressive.
Splendid views over the magnificent slopes of Etna. Staff was friendly and helpfu.

Two floors of narrow stairs to get to the room.

The establishment is located in a particularly repulsive industrial area (no sidewalk). Don't think about going to the beach on foot. No breakfast before 8:00 am even lightened to go fly. A sewage smell after each use of the shower room. The noises of other travelers are expected in the other rooms.
