How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Bathroom is not private, it is outside the room, but it is very clean.
The room is very basic, but it has plenty of space and storage areas. The beds are comfortable, and the street where the rooms are located is quiet. The best part is the location, as it is just a few steps from the center – the castle and the old town. The price is very affordable. The owner which we never met in person, was very Nice and helpful and always available via Whatsapp.

Great location, clean facility, good bed, clean showers/toilets, and a very sweet and nice hostess. Ended up extending my stay a second night. Would definitely stay here again.

I would recommend a small refrigerator in each room.
Communication with staff at check-in was easy. Clean rooms and shared bathrooms, available all the time. Quiet location, close to Piazza Ariostea and the Ferrara historical center.

Other guests are loud in the hallway, it could help to put signs in the hallway asking for a silent behavior. Checkout preferred until 11 am :)
The room is big, bed is comfortable, there are two bathrooms to use, everything is so clean, host is very friendly, the water kettle and tea in the room, possibility to leave your luggage after checkout, great park just a few meters away.

Nothing at all to fault for the price paid. Although, the handles to the room and bathrooms could perhaps do with some oil to make them less noisy at night 🙃.
Very clean room and shared bathroom facilities. Remote check-in worked well, provided you have phone data/internet access. Luggage storage after check-out was convenient. Bus stop back to train station is just around the corner near the park (you can use a credit card to buy a ticket on-board). Reasonable walk to castle etc.

We were a little worried after previous bad experiences that there was only a fan rather than AC, but it’s a ceiling fan and worked perfectly so really no complaints!
The property was in an excellent location, super convenient to reach the Old Town and the castle and an easy bus from the train station. Francesca was also super helpful when our key didn’t work and immediately opened the door, and everyone else we saw who worked there was super friendly. The coffee machine was also an added bonus! Even though it’s a shared bathroom, it’s super nice and we never had any problems.

Central, cleaniness. I would recomend installing a small fridge in the room. It would have helped to have cold drinks in the hot day

The only thing that wasn't as convenient was the bathroom.There are 2 full equipped bathrooms, clean, but if the place is crowded, it would become a little complicated. We didn't had that problem tho.
The room was near the city center just a 5 min walk from Torre dei Leoni. The room and the bathrooms were clean.

Absolutely perfect! Huge room, super comfortable bed, very clean and modern. The shared bathrooms were spotless too, and there was never any issues. Located in a quiet area, close to the center. Online check in quick and easy. Recommended!
