Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CroatiaThe camp is located near San Gimignano and is a good starting point for trips to Florence, Siena, Lucca, Pisa, Volterra, etc. We stayed in a mobile home which could have been a bit cleaner, but it was satisfactory. There is a restaurant and a small market, which we didn't have a chance to use. The swimming pool is outside the campsite but included in the accommodation price. Overall, a good offer for the price.

United KingdomAnts on the outdoor furniture! 😂. Website talks of pilgrim accommodation with reduced prices but there seems to be no way of booking this on line - I ended up in the 'pilgrim village' (book a 'green room') by accident but think I paid full price
Generous private cabin accomodation for pilgrims on the via Francigena. Just beyond the tourist hustle and inflated prices of San Gimignano but with easy access by bus. Reasonable restaurant on site. Peaceful. Very clean, AC.

Czech RepublicSurprisingly, they do not allow self check-in. The reception closes at 9PM, they were willing to stay open for us until 9:30pm for the check-in, but it comes as a surprise that today one has to adjust to the accomodation's schedule instead of the other way around. The accomodation's location is great, we stayed one night and then left - not many other options around. The mobile house is dated, clean and everything working, including the AC, but is 30+ year old. For us it was good value for the money, but we were happy we booked for one night and then moved on.

GermanyThe plastic bungalow was unresisted for condensation and, most of the time we must stay with open windows, and low budget bungalows, like ours, don't have a covered terrace ..
Very nice location, excellent staff, good equipment in the small bungalow , and on working distance to the San Gimignano....

United KingdomThe very steep hills - chalets at the bottom of campsite.
Nice campsite very close to San Giminano. Unfortunately it was raining so everywhere was quite muddy also chalets were at the bottom of very very very steep hill. We ate in the restaurant good value for money and pizza's were great. We drove to the camp restaurant no way were we walking up and down hills. We normally have a campervan so are used to campsites - this look good for independent campers as campervans, caravans etc were all parked on top section if we had our van with us we would go back. The chalet was clean and tidy and was comfortable.

United KingdomNothing worth mentioning
This is a pleasant place to stay for a night on the Via Francigena. We arrived in late October and the weather was very wet. Getting to our portacabin was a bit of a mission but once there everything was fine. We had a good meal in the campsite restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Czech RepublicI needed to pay an extra 50 euros for air-conditioning in a mobile house, which I didn't count with. Although WiFi was advertised it was basically unusable in the camp where we were located (at the end of the camp, down the hill) and around the restaurant. Shop in the restaurant had a very basic and limited choice of goods (no vegetables or fruits) and the nearest was Coop in San Gimignano
Great location, very close to San Gimignano. Well-equipped mobile house.

IrelandThere was a very steep hill to walk up the swimming poo and the main area of the pool. This could be difficult if you had small children or a buggy etc. The pool was a community pool that the campsite could use for guests. The shop site wasn't great but there were local shops that you could drive to. You definitely need a car.
It was a lovely quiet campsite with a nice restaurant. The surrounding area was beautiful. The campsite was clean.

GermanyWe were disappointed by a few things. There is no description when booking that the pool is outside of the camping and that the campsite is located on a steep hill so if you are in a bangalow there are many many steep stairs to climb to reach any of the facilities. It would be important to know if anyone has any problems with climbing stairs. We had to pay extra for air conditioning and towels. The bedding was included but it wasn’t nice - very cheap.
We liked that there were lots of trees, a nice big terrace, it was quiet and the restaurant had good food and friendly service.

SwitzerlandWifi was a bit patchy and mostly only worked in one corner of the room.
Great location with bus stop just outside to visit San Gimignano, but also only 20/30 mins to walk into the city. Modern cabin with kitchen and comfortable beds and pillows, and free access to public pool in walking distance. Cheap cappuccino and cornetto available at the restaurant for breakfast. Air conditioning was amazing!
