How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHotel Canova is a true gem in Lido di Jesolo — offering fair prices, exceptional service, and a prime location just steps from the beach. From the moment of arrival, the staff were incredibly polite and professional, always ready to assist with a smile. The warmth of their welcome truly sets the tone for the entire stay. The rooms are impeccably clean and well-maintained on a daily basis. The air conditioning unit worked flawlessly, ensuring a comfortable indoor climate even during the hottest days. I personally counted 118 steps from the hotel to the beach, making its location ideal for sun lovers. The hotel offers fantastic deals for beach chairs and umbrellas, and also provides discounts for various local activities. Guests can use the hotel’s own city bicycles free of charge — perfect for exploring the town. Though the bikes are not meant for off-road use (as I found out), the hotel also offers discounts for renting e-bikes from nearby shops. I rented a Cube e-bike through this option and it was an excellent experience — smooth, powerful, and fun. Location-wise, it doesn’t get better. The hotel is right next to Pub Garden, a vibrant bar that’s open until 3 a.m. (possibly the only one in the area with such late hours). It’s the perfect spot to keep the night going. Despite its proximity, there was no noise disturbance in the rooms — I stayed just above the bar and slept soundly each night. Pub Garden itself is a great venue with a solid food menu and excellent drinks. There are also numerous restaurants and local attractions within walking distance, offering something for every taste. In summary, Hotel Canova is a budget-friendly stay that offers outstanding value, comfort, and hospitality. Whether you’re visiting for the beach, the nightlife, or just to relax, it delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended.
Canova is amazing. I dislike having to leave.

Verified reviewI can confidently say that it is the perfect hotel for an unforgettable vacation. From the outstanding location, impeccable cleanliness to the friendly staff and approachable owner, this hotel truly exceeded my expectations in every way possible. One of the most remarkable aspects of Hotel Canova is its unbeatable location just a few minutes away from the beach. Dotted along the pristine coastline, the hotel provides guests with allocated umbrellas and sunbathing chairs, ensuring the ultimate relaxation by the sea. It was an absolute delight to have easy access to the beach, allowing us to soak in the sun and enjoy the calming waves without any hassle. The cleanliness of the hotel is truly commendable. With rooms being cleaned on a daily basis, we were constantly greeted with a fresh and welcoming environment upon returning from our daily adventures. The attention to detail was exceptional, leaving no room for any complaints.

Verified reviewThe hotel is nice, clean, room was big enough, very good value for the money. Even the hotel is not new I felt very good. Good restaurant - we served breakfast (which was rich) but also dinner on demand (which was not expensive but you need to select the menu in advance). The hotel has umbrellas on the beach on a much better price than if you rent directly on the beach. Also has bikes to shortly use for free. Parking was ok too. The staff was very nice, supportive (clean ladies, in restaurant, at reception). What I liked the most was the attitude. The attitude was of trust, no control, relaxed, fair - from the reception/(director), to the restaurant and clean ladies. This contributes to the good state of spirit of one's vacation.

Verified reviewWhen all people around you are extremely nice and helpful, you don't really need the technological augmentation to have fun. The hotel is simple regarding facilities, but the laid-back friendliness of the staff and the very facile arrangement of anything you ask for from morning well into the night makes you stop looking for the hi-tech solutions encountered elsewhere. What I would highlight is the cleanliness of the hotel, the daily room cleaning service, and the great meals. I really appreciated the opportunity to borrow a bike for free ("No worries, just ask for it anytime") as there are splendid biking routes around.
An improvement of the wifi internet is all I could recommend. Otherwise, we felt like sharing a home with the other guests. There is nothing I could mention as a disadvantage.

Verified reviewEverything was great. Owners are really friendly and helpfull. One of a biggest advantage of a hotel is parking. Not typical parking as hotels use to have (car to car to car), but normal. You can use your car when you want. Room for 2 adults and 2 kids was great, big enough with two balconies. Bathroom was clean and newly done. Staff was cleaning the room every day with new clean towels every 2 day (we didnt need, but we had). Breakfast was continental, same every day. But many varietes are possible. You can choose eggs, ham, bacon, salami, sausages, fruits, milk, youghurts, cereals, croissants, jams, cakes, bread, toasts.... And also food was substituted during whole breakfast. Doesnt matter when you came, there was always enough food. Beach is 3 minutes from hotel, justs acrross the street. Location is perfect for families with kids. Its quite quiet comparred to other locations near to the hotel, e.g. Piazza Aurora or Piazza Mazzini. Lido offers also a lot of things to visit- Wheel of Venice, Tropicarium park, Science museum, the biggest aquapark in Italy- Caribe bay (openes at 10AM, but at cca 11,30 is closed due to maximum capacity; I also recommend to buy tickets at least 6 day sooner- little bit cheaper), pirate ship Jolly Roger, many bouncing castles, train Il Gondolino, carousels, karts, tripo to Venice, Murano, Burano..... Also really really long promenade (about 10km), where you can tase italian food, buy souvenirs, see concerts or typical markets..

Verified reviewIdeally located, close to the beach, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. The breakfast was good and the hotel offers free bikes and parking. So we’ve really enjoyed biking around the area before swimming and relaxing by the beach.

Verified reviewamazing helpful and friendly staff, we get sunbeds and umbrellas for free, also we could borrow the bikes. Breakfast were great, we could find anything there. Amazing location, just 1-2 minutes by walk from beach. The hotel is located in the end of the promenade with was great because it wasn’t noisy during the night. We got new towels everyday and housekeepers were cleaning the room everyday. I would love to come back again.
The room and bathroom were too small but it wasn’t a problem at all. Breakfast were just till 9:30 which was a bit early for us.
