How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had an amazing stay at Giuseppe & Daniela’s beautiful home. They welcome you with open arms & amazing hospitality. True authentic Italian experience. The property is in a small town but an amazing base to explore all of what Salento has to offer. Giuseppe gave us recommendations of what to do everyday and even took us on a guided tour of Lecce. Super cute cats and dogs also :) Do not hesitate to book. We will definitely be back :)

Verified reviewGiuseppe and Daniella were the most accommodating and kind hosts. Giuseppe was full of information of the local area and recommendations from local food to the beaches! Daniella made an incredible breakfast that changed everyday. The room was exactly like the pictures, and the grounds even more beautiful. From a bottle of wine upon arriving to the friendliest dogs to keep you company, this is the perfect place to relax while on holiday!

Verified reviewAtmosphere, calmness, environment, attitude of the owners. Excellent, wholesome breakfast, sweet and salty. A paradise on earth for animal lovers.
Nothing. We would only like to point out that it can be a slight complication for foreigners if they do not know Italian - the owners are very friendly, but only one of them, Giuseppe, can speak a little English, and the lady, Daniela, can only be communicated with by means of a translator. It doesn't affect your stay, just knowing Italian can be a great advantage for better understanding with the owners.

Verified reviewWe had the pleasure of staying in this truly captivating accommodation in southern Puglia, where the essence of a small Italian town is beautifully preserved. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Our rooms boasted authentic furnishings with a unique charm, all maintained in pristine condition. It felt like stepping back a few hundred years, surrounded by the historical beauty of the area, yet with all the comforts of cleanliness and tidiness. The breakfast was a highlight of our stay, with many ingredients sourced directly from the host's garden. The freshness and quality of the food provided a delightful start to our day. The expansive yard and garden were equally impressive, offering tranquil spots to relax and unwind. Parking was hassle-free, with enough space available on the surrounding streets and square. For any necessities, a hypermarket was conveniently located just a five-minute drive away. Overall, our visit was a remarkable blend of past and present, where traditional charm meets exceptional hospitality. Highly recommended for those looking to experience the authentic spirit of Puglia.

Verified reviewThis place is a dream like oasis tucked into a quiet town. The breakfast is made by Daniela and is some of the tastiest treats we had the whole trip. The space has rich history and is beautiful all around, you could spend many hours getting lost exploring on the grounds of this place. We didnt speak Italian but Giuseppe is fluent in English and we did just fine talking with Daniella over Google Translate! Giuseppe gave us so many wonderful tips for traveling around to other cities, swimming spots etc and even took us horse back riding! But I would recommend being pretty experienced on horses to do this ride, it was an adventure! We spent 7 nights there and loved every bit of it.
The only downside to this amazing place is you definitely need a car or scooter to get around. Its only 10 min drive from the nearest coast (which has an amazing grotto to swim into btw) but the BnB itself is located in a very quiet town with only one restaurant in walking distance. So get ready to spend most days driving to other parts of Salento but its a wonderful place to have as a basecamp for your adventuring.

Verified reviewGuiseppe and Daniella are special. They clearly love life and what they do. They are intereasted in their guests and are the perfect hosts. The Breakfasts were exceptional made by the hand of Daniella / Local Hams, Omlettes, Ricotta cheese with local honey, warm bread, fantastic coffee, Tarts made with melt in the mouth shortbread and home made jams - One particular homemade tart made with shortcrust pastry, creme anlglaise topped with strawberries. Anything we couldnt eat was wrapped and given to us in parcels for our days exploring the beautiful countryside and swimming spots. Guiseppe was mine of local knowledge and but also a really interesting person to talk to - his knowledge of the locas history of the region and abroad was both informative and really helpful. They are charming and were eager to go to any lengths to make our stay in their beautiful accomodation as special for us as possible. They and the ladies that work with them epitomise hospitality -

Verified reviewFabulous hosts, beautiful garden and outdoor eating spaces, delicious breakfast with tremendous variety of homemade food. Giuseppe and Daniela went above and beyond to make our stay extremely pleasant and memorable. We enjoyed tasting regional specialties lovingly prepared by Daniela and learning the fascinating history of the property and the area.
The bathroom in our unit (while charming and spacious!) was accessed by going up a few steps so could be an issue for some.

Verified reviewwith hindsight we should have booked here for our whole stay in Salento. we spent two nights with Daniela and Giuseppe and we didn’t want to leave - one of the best places we had the pleasure to stay at. the place is magical, you’re surrounded by herbs, plants and trees. everything in the casale, rooms included, is selected from the finest materials and with greatest care (Daniela has a superbly fine eye). both Daniela and Giuseppe are wonderful souls, passionate about their land and with endless stories to share, and suggestions on how to enhance your trip to really live Salento to its fullest. proudly homemade, using their products (or locally sourced), breakfast was the best moment of our days. there’s a few adorable and cuddly pets to play with too 🐶🐱 we miss it all already! grazie e a presto ✨
