Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyShower wasn't really meticulously cleaned. Signs of calcium was all over the tiles. The bed cover was stained and old. Bed an room size didn't meet our expectations but it's fine.

Polandroom a bit small for 3 people, it was hard to move, little space for your own things. beds creaked a bit, if someone moves around in bed it can wake up the tenants
good location, about 10 minutes walk from Roma Termini station. clean room, bathroom too. inside kettle, coffee/tea set. the lady who welcomed us speaks only Italian, but we managed to communicate with sign language. room booked for 3 people, but cups, coffee, water were prepared for 2 people - after asking for it we got what we needed.

Serbia- It is an apartment in an old building turned into a hotel. You can see the light from the corridor through the closed door of the room. - The room is very noisy, not soundproof at all. We stayed for two nights and I was woken up both nights by guests who were checking out. I could hear them and their suitcases rumbling across the corridor, and their conversation with the reception lady. One time it was before 5am! - If you open the window (we were in Marilyn room), you will find a little balcony that is completely jammed with outer air condition units which make a lot of noise even when the balcony doors are closed. - the reception lady, who was apparently also the cleaning lady, opened the door from our room without knocking, 15 minutes before the check-out time. She apologized, but still, our privacy was jeopardized
- The location is convenient, a short walk from Termini. - We were allowed to leave our luggage after the check-out time. - There is an elevator. - There were some complimentary refreshments (cookies, tea, coffee).

PolandThe staff didn't speak english. The rooms could be bigger. The wifi was quite slow.
The room was quite cosy and very clean (they clean it everyday). It included fride and kettle which comes with some tea/instant coffee. The led light in the bathroom makes it look unique. In the neighborhood there are a few nice cafes for breakfast. 10min walk to Roma Termini

United Arab EmiratesIt was operated by private host which was something new for us. The room was clean but the shower was small. We went to other location at the beginning since there are multiple Chroma Italy, make sure you reach the right destination. Location was nearby roma termini which we needed and in a calm street.

IsraelI didn't get cleaning service: the day we ask to clean the room, we get only new towels, but floor was not cleaned, bed sheets not changed (it even stayed same state we left, not covered), despite that the italian lady we saw every morning was vacuuming and cleaning the corridor very well
Nice place on a quiet street, check-in was very smooth and clear. Apartment is close to quarters with restaurants and cafes (just need to remember that not all of them work full day or start early). Apartment close to the blue metro line (5-7 minutes), to the main railway station Termini (7-10 min), to Trevi fountain by walk took us 30 min. Room itself is not very big, enough place to put luggage on the floor and have a pass to the bed, but since you only sleep in the room and whole day in the city - it's OK, room has a big window, toilet is clean, water pressure is good

PortugalThis accommodation is shown on Booking as a Bed and Breakfast hotel, but it's in fact a 4 bedroom apartment with minimal services and no staff in the evening. It is more like an Rbnb room. Rome seems to be very expensive but we were expecting more for the value. The room was basic and fairly clean at most.
Good location near Roma Termini (train, subway and bus stations). The staff was friendly and helpful. We found the building to be very interesting with an antique working elevator.

United KingdomNo proper signage so hotel was difficult to find but the staff were quick to notice and asked if we needed help. There was a language barrier as none speaks English but Google translator was of great help so it wasn't really a problem.
The room is very spacious and clean. WiFi is good. Close to restaurants and bars ( Mc Donald's and KFC is nearby ).

NetherlandsThe shower head of that room is not really working. There was only very little water coming out.
The location is very good. It is only several minutes walking from the Rome train station. Out side the building there are always some board-scooters easy to find. That is the best vehicle to use for visiting Rome because! And the old fashion elevator is one extra bonus of this place!

United KingdomThere was no warm water coming from our sink and the pressure was very low - although it was great in the shower. The bathroom door had no lock on it. The bathroom had lots of limescale and was not the most clean with gunk in the toothbrush holder and dirt and hair around the shower door. We were excited to see we had a balcony but it was blocked by the AC units and was very dirty so was an eyesore and completely unusable. The photo canvas in our room was strange, a large photo of a woman lying with her legs open. My partner was bitten in the night by something, unsure if it was bed bugs or something else but be wary of staying here for that reason. When we showed up to collect our luggage we were not spoken to as the hosts were sitting laughing at something on their phone which felt a bit rude although we were just grateful to have somewhere to leave our stuff. Not the best location for getting into the main part of Rome unfortunately, good location for Termini and the metro station but with the buses running so poorly we would have preferred to stay closer to the sights.
The room was a nice size with a good-sized bathroom. We liked the plugins which made the room and the corridor smell nice as well as the LED lights in the bathroom. The room had plenty of lamps which made it cozy and a small fridge with some free water which was nice as it was very hot when we arrived. The rooms had good soundproofing and we could only hear our neighbours when we were in the bathroom/ when they shut the main door very loudly. Elvio was kind and answered all of my messages very quickly and allowed us to store our luggage before we left for our train after we checked out which was great.
