How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The lower parts of Agrigento can be a bit scary at first, but it's actually very safe. Few minutes walking to the station.

the location, we didnt feel safe walking to and from our car. the location is close to the town, but deceiving because it had a totally different feel to the town only a few hundred metres outside of it. The bathroom lights were flickering and also, there is a common door and hallway with multiple other rooms which are rented although we never saw anybody else.

Verified reviewSpacious and comfortable room with a common area.
- The room was quite dark. - No staff contacted us in advance to provide check-in information — we had to reach out ourselves via the booking platform’s chat system. The phone number provided was not reachable via WhatsApp. - The area around the hotel was dirty.

No breakfast, no parking (I had both filters selected). Light in the bathroom was flickering. Water had literally no pressure

Verified reviewThe room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable, and well-decorated. The location is just a short walk from the historic center, including Pirandello Square and the theater. From the street in front of the property, you can also see part of the Templi Valley beautifully illuminated at night. Please note that breakfast was not included with our stay.
The entrance alley to the property was littered with some garbage.

Verified reviewThe room was typically Italian with a pretty old double bed and wardrobe and a view over the sea. Citta dei Templi is an excellent location walking distance from the railway station and historic Agrigento
In room 'Ercole' the pillows and mattress were not soft enough for an old person like me, well, I'm over 50. And the shower attachment slid down so I could not stand under it to wash my hair. The ceiling light expired during my stay, but there were two very good bedside lamps so that was alright

Verified reviewThey were very flexible with our departure as we were able to leave our stuff and go to the Temples and then pick it up easily. Location is good as it is close to the train station, the main street and you can walk to the valley (~40min)
There is a bar downstairs, there was a full blast karaoke night until 1 am. This is definitely not their fault , but the fact that the balcony door has no sound isolation is. The fridge made a lot of noise and smelled bad inside. We woke up to no running water. Being 2025 I find it hard to believe that a 50euro per night room won't have an electric kettle for some tea or coffee. We requested for a double bed and got two single beds covered with a common bed sheet, but this had a massive gap in the middle that made it really uncomfortable as a couple. Also, if you are over 180cm , the fake bed frame they put for decoration won't allow you to stretch comfortably. In general I would not recommend this place if you wish to rest and go to the valley in the morning.

I should've read reviews as I accidentally stayed during the weekend which is EXTREMELY loud as there is bar right underneath the rooms. I couldn't sleep until about 2 in the morning. Bathroom light was flickering so badly I couldn't use the bathroom with the light on as well. Not my favorite stay but okay for a quick trip passing through. Unfortunately because of my experience with the noise, I ended up leaving early.

Verified reviewWe were from Agrigento by train travelling to see the valley of the temples. The location was perfect for this. We stayed two nights - the station and restaurants and cafes for breakfast and dinner were pretty close by - 500 - 800 metres or so. Both staff at the guest house and at the restaurants and bars we visited were friendly and helpful. A sink plumbing issue was dealt with promptly.
The property is very good value - clean and comfortable. Underneath the property is a lively community bar from which there is some noise at night. We visited the bar twice - once for an open air live band in the little square and the second night for a last drink after our meal. The young people running it were delightful and we felt it was a good place to support. My cousin and her husband found the noise disturbing- my husband and I did not mind so much. I am writing about it so that an informed choice can be made. I felt the advantages of location and price out weighed the noise - I think we hit 2 busy nights!

Verified reviewThe hotel is very comfortable and clean. The room is spacious and has everything needed (mini fridge, table and chair, side table, closet). Alessandro, the owner, was very attentive. The location is very good, as you are in the center, and also in an area which is easy to find a parking spot. Check-in and check-out were very easy.
There is a bar right under the hotel that played very loud music on Saturday night.
