Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe village Golferenzo is in a region which has not fully been discovered by tourists yet. This leads to a genuine Italian experience. Borgo dei Gatti is the perfect match for this Italian experience. The hostess is warm and kind, the general ambiance of the apartments is lovely and authentic. Breakfast was perfect, with a large variety of choices and more than enough food for the entire family (including big eaters). The hostess was generous with everything we wanted, ranging from coffee capsules/pods for the coffee machine to advise on which city to visit. The infinity pool looks out over the beautiful Italian landscape, the perfect place to relax. In short: we had a perfect holiday experience and we would recommend this location to everyone!

United StatesBorgo dei Gatti in Golferenzo is a magical place to relax and to experience all the joys of the Italian countryside along with a lovely spa. There is a cat who welcomed us and visited each morning and evening. Paola, the hostess, is a gem of a soul— so thoughtful and sweet and charming! The daily breakfast in a basket is a feast! The pool has a lovely view. The various places to eat are splendid. It is a quiet, relaxing and rejuvenating experience to stay there. It’s location is off the beaten track, yet just 1/2 from the train station, where they picked us up. As an American, I loved every charming detail— all very reasonably priced for an absolutely splendid experience! I would give it 20 stars or more!

NetherlandsThe only thing we can think of is that the furniture outside was not really comfortable. Further, we would recommend to book within the weekend when the restaurants and bars are open. On Monday most of the restaurants were closed.
The host Paola is great!! She is really kind and helpful! The village is so beautiful in the middle of nowhere. The swimming pool and SPA are very nice and clean. Also the two restaurants and the cocktail bar in the village are highly recommended! The apartment was clean and the breakfast was delicious: every morning with warm bread, fresh eggs and some cake!

RussiaBorgo dei Gatti is a slice of heaven tucked away in the hills — we couldn't have asked for a better stay. The location is simply breathtaking — perched on a hillside with panoramic views that look like something out of a dream. The hosts are absolutely wonderful — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Ciao, Paola! Thank you for your kindness and care throughout our stay. And don’t even get me started on the breakfasts! Every morning, a charming wicker basket appeared at our door filled with local delights: fresh croissants, fruit, yogurt, and rich Italian coffee. Such a thoughtful and cozy start to the day. The rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and full of rustic charm — think wood-beamed ceilings, soft linens, and all the little details that make a place feel special. The entire property is tranquil, well-maintained, and radiates character. If you're looking for a peaceful, romantic, and authentic escape in the Italian countryside, this is the place. I left completely recharged and already dreaming of coming back.

United KingdomWe liked everything - All delightful, including the friendly workmen building the Albergo’s new kitchen gardens.
Elegant, calm accommodation with indulgent and generous breakfast basket. Tranquil and peaceful spa with brilliant facilities and views. Accommodating and welcoming management and staff. A great base for our three day wine tour through the region.

BulgariaThis place is magical. So much amazing details at the same time you have everything you need for a perfect stay. Located in village in the country with picturesque scenes there and on the way there. Convenient parking. All apartaments are located on different sports but 1 min away from each other. Breakfast is served in the room-all homemade style with amazing taste. In the room there is kitchen with cooking accessories, coffee machine. Restaurant in the village is 100 out of 10 :) the feeling is like being your grandma guest. Worth every minute spent here. Paula thank you for the great hospitality.

ItalyBreakfast, location, hospitality, all excellent! I am from the area but decided to stay in the "hotel" with my friends for a spa weekend! It's a great escape with spa, hotel, and restaurant all within walking distance. Away from the hustle & bustle of city life.

United KingdomNothing at all. Would recommend hiring a car though, as Golferenzo is at the top of a hill with no shops apart from the hotel one, so trips to supermarkets and other villages may be necessary.
The most beautiful hotel/villa we have ever stayed in. Our villa was gorgeous, massive and full of beautiful italian antiques, the pool was perfect and very clean, the baskets brought every morning for breakfast were delicious and often had enough left over for lunch. Every little detail of the stay was absolutely perfect - Golferenzo is the most beautiful village, and the staff, especially Paola and Arianna, were so kind and attentive to every possible thing we needed or wanted. The hotel’s restaurant, Corte de Lupe, was delicious and so aesthetically pleasing, just like the rest of the hotel. It’s the perfect place to go and reset/relax, because it’s so peaceful and quiet in the village. We will be back next year - we felt heart-broken to be leaving!

BulgariaWe are used to have breakfast early, then going out for a trip , so waiting for the breakfast basket around 08.30- 09.00 was not the best option for us. Kitchen was missing a couple of basic things, like cutting board for example
Nice house among vineyard hills. House was cozy and comfortable with shared garden with 2 other houses. Amazing pool with a view. Breakfast BIO, fresh and delicious, delivered to your house.

United StatesNothing. It was a memorable experience.
What an exceptional experience. The location, the view, the facilities, and the staff were something out of a movie. I wish we could have stayed longer and used the spa. The daily delivery of a basket full of wonderful foods was such a treat. The hostess, Paola, was receptive, easy to talk to, and extremely caring. I wish this location was closer so that I could come more often.

IcelandI have not experienced so much peace and quiet as in Borgo Dei Gatti. The staff was awesome and always willing to help you. The pool was fantastic and the view is indescribable and you enjoyed every minute looking at it. Every morning a basque basket comes with a different breakfast which was awesome and all from the region. Thank you and look forward to coming back in the future.

France100% perfect...we are,100% electric carwise and if there had been 2 charger locations I guess 🤔 it would be 200% fabulous ..this isn't a criticism just a wish ..
Everything !... I would like to keep the location a,secret but the owner needs to be recognised for achieving his dream in renovating the properties of the village where he once lived..the restaurant and facilities are of a very high standard ..it is a dream location and we have reserved dates for our second stay before we left .I should add Paola was the perfect host too.

Paola was a very kind and welcoming host. We got an upgrade to the villa because of construction works near our original unit. The last night we spent in the original unit, so we can compare! Both accommodation units are very nice, decoration is very stylish with attention to detail. Beds were great. The villa is larger and boasts a wonderful view of the swimming pool and the valley below. Breakfast was nice and plentiful, with both sweet and savoury options. There are two nice restaurants in the village and also a place to go for a drink with a view. We were there with a 1 year old and would recommend the villa in that case, because of the extra bedroom and the beautiful terrace, and also because the other units have a stair and no doors blocking the access to the stairs so you have to keep an eye on the little one :-) I also went to the spa, which has beautiful views all around and has everything you can ask for.

NetherlandsWe could have done with a kettle for boiling water for tea and perhaps a microwave oven but we made do with what was there and had no trouble improvising a little bit.
Breakfast was brought to the room in a basket and it was copious; varied and healthy with great feeling for local food. It was a pleasure to see the basket every single morning. Lovely white wine to welcome us to the house and a wonderful pool with a view!
