How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Bathroom was smelling but it is not about the cleaning, probably about the pipes.
Super close to the beach and everything. It was very clean and nice and also has a nice terrace.

While we had a small fridge in the room and an electric kettle, the only table provided was a bit small. Also, they could have a small plastic box in the hall area for us to drop off dirty dishes as there is no main kitchen area to clean them and I would have preferred not to keep the rinsed dishes in my room.
The location was centrally located and provided easy access to the main street and the beach. The room was spacious and clean and had a small patio.

Bit of hot as no AC, and can't keep patio door open at night due to mosquitos.
Very cozy place with complementary coffee/tea and snacks, even a small fridge in the room which is nice extra, not many hotels offer it anymore.

It has a very homelike feel. Staff is very nice and trusting. The location is walking distance from everywhere in town and you can even get to Cinque Terre by hike or bus. The actual town is beautiful and deserves a visit.

Bonassola is an amazing place to stay in. Beautiful, yet not overcrowded, with a beautiful beach and a cozy atmosphere. Communication with the owner was great. Even though there was no breakfast included, there were some snacks in our room and also in the hall (tea, muffins) - we really appreciated that. Room was also cleaned every day.

It was hard for me without air conditioning. The ceiling fan did a good job of keeping the air moving. We had to keep the patio doors closed to keep the dog in our room, so that made the room a little stuffy.
The woman who runs the hotel couldn't have been nicer! She was very responsive with messages and helped my husband find parking. This small town is is perfectly charming! The room was simple and had everything we needed. The back patio was lovely. We kept the patio doors closed so our dog didn't roam around and bother other guests

you could hear sometimes the other guests and as it is a light hearing property I can’t understand people who have to shower after midnight and waking up everyone around (I know this is complaining on a high level-lol but it bothered me)

No table in the room. When I went the weather was not hot and temperature in the room was fine, but I'm afraid it might get hot during summer, as there is no AC nor great circulation of air being a ground floor.
Being a room-renting, there is no common room nor kitchen, yet the property provides a coffee machine for all and an individual kettle in the room. Room is spacious with high ceilings and big window. Quiet although it's in the centre of the village, perfect location, 2min walking to the beach, the railway station. The owner is nice and available to help.

room is a bit humid but it is located in the basement and it was rainy so there is not much you can do about it
Great spot for exploring Cinque Terre. 3 minutes walk to the train station. 20 minute walk to Levanto at the sea. Comfortable room but nothing too special. Even the single room has a terrace. Close to the bars and there is a supermarket in the same street. Excellent restaurant in the same building. I could park the car in a private spot right outside the apartement

Superb location, round the corner from the station (but couldn't hear the trains), only a couple of mins to the beach and some restaurants. Lovely convenient place.

Nice big room in ideal location. Easy check in and check out. We had an outside space perfect to sit and have a drink which was an added bonus. Would recommend.
