How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe host was a true gentleman, felt like staying with family. Unbelievable hospitality. Italian breakfast was off the charts, coffee was delicious, the view was breathtaking, rooms are incredible and clean. Lovely pets were a good company as well. If ever returning to Ancona, i would not hesitate to come here again, even for longer stays. Fell in love at first sight. Simply amazing. Thank you for such an amazing experience <3

Verified reviewA very good, although a little untypical accommodation in an old villa. A roof terrace with a view of the sea. A very nice and helpful host - Oberdan.
Public transit connetion to the city center isn't ideal. You need to walk 12 minutues to the bus stop, and then it turns out that some of the buses suggested by Google Maps (N,R) don't stop there. It worked much better when we used our car and parked it in Parcheggio Traiano, suggested by our host.

Verified reviewThis is my favorite place I have stayed on my month long Italy trip. The home is beautiful and well located to explore the Marche region. However, the highlight of this stay was the host Oberdon. As a young solo traveller, Oberdon made me feel like I was at home my entire stay. He is the best host I have ever had and I hope that one day I can return. Also the dog Fred and the cat are bonuses:) Stay here and you will not regret it!

Verified reviewThe host Oberdan was very welcoming and courteous. He was very proud of his family home and what he offers. The room was immaculate, stylish bathroom, spacious bedroom and a balcony with a panoramic view of Ancona. Oberdan went out of his way to provide us with so much information about where to visit and where to eat. We had dinner at a restaurant that was a few minutes walking distance. Breakfast was Italian with fresh cornetto that you order the filling the night before, fresh fruit and fruit juice, yoghurt, plenty of freshly made coffee and bread. This was one of our best hosts and we've experienced in Italy.
There really was nothing to dislike.

Verified reviewThe host is very nice and helpfull person. He tells you everything that you need to know about Ancona and how to get around the city. He is very pleasant person and makes sure that your stay will be great. Breakfast is good italian brekafast which gets your day started. Location is good, peaceful place on the hillside with a beautiful view over the city to ocean. Easy access to the city with a bus.

Verified reviewD’AGO48 is the best B&B ever. The host is amiable and helps you in every possible way. My wife and I stayed five days, and the service was so good. My wife stayed at the hotel mostly for that five days as I came to Ancona for work (From D’AGO48, you can walk to the polytechnic university of the Marche). You can see the Ancona city and harbour from the garden. Simply the view is amazing. I rate it 10/10 because they really do deserve it. The room and the bathroom are clean, and everything is in order. If your stay is over a day, they clean all the rooms daily and change the linen. You can have breakfast outdoors in the summer. Friendly dog Fred is also excellent and well-trained.

Verified reviewI really felt like being a welcome guest in a beautiful family villa where the host took extra care that we have a relaxing and pleasant time. The villa , the garden, the rooms are all beautiful and well designed with tradition and comfort well matched.
The place is perfect for peace and rest, but somewhat outside the city centre , coming home at night is a task.

Verified reviewOberdan was an amazing host who takes meticulous care to ensure you have everything you want or need. He will recommend and book tables at restaurants for you and go out of his way to provide you with the breakfast of your choice. The view from the property is exactly as shown overlooking Ancona. Oberdan is very proud of his heritage and home town and is the perfect guide to all places of interest. We had the room with a balcony and private bathroom so we were quite happy. All doors and windows have mosquito screens which was a godsend to us having been eaten alive for the last 2 weeks (despite trying 3 different spray repellents!). On top of that we fell in love with Freddo the dog and Butch the cat - gorgeous!

Verified reviewWe (2 adults) had an excellent stay here: Oberdam is the best host we have met on our many trips, always friendly, full of local knowledge and advice. If you want to experience a little bit of old traditional Italian architecture, mood and atmosphere together with beautiful views of Ancona, tree shaded garden overlooking rolling hills, Ancona and the sea – this is the place. On the practical note having a car is definitely an advantage.
