Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyDinner in the restaurant was sadly a relatively poor experience even though setting and waiter were really nice. Next morning's breakfast was great though.
Generally a very nice and well situated location. We stayed overnight on our way to Liguria.

FranceA minor downside was the cleaning under the toilet rim — it seemed like it could use a more thorough cleaning. And a small suggestion: it would be wonderful if dogs were provided with a water bowl, as it would be a meaningful sign of attention. Other than that, everything was excellent.
This is a wonderful hotel located in a renovated old villa. We had the option of self-check-in because we arrived late. Access to the villa and our room was by code. Our husky, who travels with us, was very well received by the hotel staff. Moreover, despite our late arrival around 11 p.m., a dinner from the restaurant located on the villa’s grounds was already waiting for us. The restaurant staff was also very friendly. Overall, this is a great place to stay when traveling to Milan or Lake Como. A big plus is that the hotel is very dog-friendly. We will definitely come back again.

NetherlandsDespite the very good bed, we did not sleep well, because it was very warm in the room and some how we didn't manage to turn down the heating. Even the water from the cold water tap was so warm, we had to let it run for 1 or 2 minutes before it was nice to drink.
Hotel has a very nice atmosphere and rooms are very clean and well equipped. Staff is friendly and speak English.

DenmarkIt was kind of them to let us move to a brighter apartment for one night, but I must say, the ground-floor unit in the right corner really needed mosquito nets. The apartment had access to a garden, but unfortunately, that garden was adjacent to a concealed water pond, which attracted a considerable number of mosquitoes. We left the windows open during the day, unaware that mosquitoes were making their way into the apartment. That night, we were bitten relentlessly—despite my efforts to kill as many as I could with a towel. I counted over 40 bites, which is quite excessive. I understand that mosquitoes are notorious in this region of Italy, but this just highlights the need for mosquito nets in that particular apartment. We also had an issue at the restaurant during dinner. We were excited to try it, but when we arrived, the waiter didn’t inform us which dishes were no longer available. As a result, we ended up spending extra time looking over the already rather limited menu, which could have been avoided had we been told upfront. The selection was scarce, and just 1.5 hours after opening, they were already out of one of the three main dishes, as well as two starters. This put us in a bit of a bind, especially given the remote location.
The hotel staff were very service-minded. On the second day, we asked if it was possible to get one of the apartments with more light and they agreed to it without any problem. The location is beautiful, they have a big garden where one can relax and sunbathe and they are building a pool (maybe ready in 2025?). The staff at the breakfast were very kind and attentive, even if we arrive 15 minutes before they were finishing up, the lady there offered to get us anything that had already been put away.

GermanyThe restaurant/bar was not open very long and was also not super well equipped with alcohol. Unfortunatley, there was quite some noise at night from a company or construction site. So despite feeling on the countryside, it was not country side silence.
Very nice old villa, nicely renovated. We enjoyed the room and the nice bathroom. The park was lovely. Amazing that they have an EV charger that works with the regular public charging card.

FranceBreakfast was very basic compared with the standard of the place. Unfourtunately there was only one person managing breakfast, she kept her smile but could not keep up with all the coffee orders and refilling the breakfast table at the same time.

FranceVery nice place, renovated from what looked like a big farm. The staff welcomed us warmly and was nice and helpful. The room was spacious and confortable, with a nice bed and a good matress, clean linen and a big bathroom. AC worked well and was appreciated! It is possible to park on-site in the big parking lot, and the hôtel was very close to the highway and roads: we were able to drive around the lake Como and enjoy the views, Bellagio and Varenna were around a 1h-1h15 drive. We enjoyed the bar and good restaurant on-site, and there are many adidtional options nearby. The garden is beautiful, and some sunbeds are set for the guests to use. A pool is beeing build currently, it will be very nice when it is finished!

SwitzerlandOnly down points, we asked for an iron, and they did not had iron in the room, or could not provide any, for this kind of hotel should have at least an iron. Plus service was not fully on top, did miss that extra mile, “explain como”, where to rent scooters, boat, , where to eat in como,… recommandations, offer a drink when arriving... + no one during the night But overall highly recommend!

GermanyI was a little disappointed at the breakfast spread as I had higher expectations from a property of this stature.
While the property is located inland and a little away from como city, it is a perfect location to be in nature and to still be close enough to all the major sites around lake como. A lovely way to spend a few days in this area.
