How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Dinner in the restaurant was sadly a relatively poor experience even though setting and waiter were really nice. Next morning's breakfast was great though.

Verified reviewBeautiful setting and charming suite. The property is truly special, and we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and tasteful design.
The service – both in the restaurant and at breakfast – did not meet the standard we expected unfortunately, especially considering the high rates. Service was consistently very slow and disorganized, with long waits for menus, drinks, and food. The team was mostly polite, but clearly overwhelmed and likely not well trained. For example, we were served a tiramisu with a completely liquid consistency, which should probably not have left the kitchen in that state. Breakfast was another area of concern, with very limited choices, missing items (no bread, yogurt, or eggs at times), and long waits for basics like coffee and water glasses. Overall, the staff seemed under pressure and too few in number, which sadly affected the quality of our experience in an otherwise beautiful place.

We only use fresh eggs, cracked each morning – the eggshells are there to prove it. If there had been any doubt, we would have gladly explained this in person. • Pastries With the exception of the croissants, almost all of our cakes and baked goods are homemade in our kitchen, using simple, authentic ingredients. We use only butter – and nothing else. • Cooked Ham The ham we serve is carefully selected from high-quality producers. Verified reviewThis is a wonderful hotel located in a renovated old villa. We had the option of self-check-in because we arrived late. Access to the villa and our room was by code. Our husky, who travels with us, was very well received by the hotel staff. Moreover, despite our late arrival around 11 p.m., a dinner from the restaurant located on the villa’s grounds was already waiting for us. The restaurant staff was also very friendly. Overall, this is a great place to stay when traveling to Milan or Lake Como. A big plus is that the hotel is very dog-friendly. We will definitely come back again.
A minor downside was the cleaning under the toilet rim — it seemed like it could use a more thorough cleaning. And a small suggestion: it would be wonderful if dogs were provided with a water bowl, as it would be a meaningful sign of attention. Other than that, everything was excellent.

Inattentive unfriendly personnel in restaurant, although the restaurant aims to be high end with food and prices. Despite the very good bed, we did not sleep well, because it was very warm in the room and some how we didn't manage to turn down the heating. Even the water from the cold water tap was so warm, we had to let it run for 1 or 2 minutes before it was nice to drink.

Verified reviewThe hotel staff were very service-minded. On the second day, we asked if it was possible to get one of the apartments with more light and they agreed to it without any problem. The location is beautiful, they have a big garden where one can relax and sunbathe and they are building a pool (maybe ready in 2025?). The staff at the breakfast were very kind and attentive, even if we arrive 15 minutes before they were finishing up, the lady there offered to get us anything that had already been put away.
It was kind of them to let us move to a brighter apartment for one night, but I must say, the ground-floor unit in the right corner really needed mosquito nets. The apartment had access to a garden, but unfortunately, that garden was adjacent to a concealed water pond, which attracted a considerable number of mosquitoes. We left the windows open during the day, unaware that mosquitoes were making their way into the apartment. That night, we were bitten relentlessly—despite my efforts to kill as many as I could with a towel. I counted over 40 bites, which is quite excessive. I understand that mosquitoes are notorious in this region of Italy, but this just highlights the need for mosquito nets in that particular apartment. We also had an issue at the restaurant during dinner. We were excited to try it, but when we arrived, the waiter didn’t inform us which dishes were no longer available. As a result, we ended up spending extra time looking over the already rather limited menu, which could have been avoided had we been told upfront. The selection was scarce, and just 1.5 hours after opening, they were already out of one of the three main dishes, as well as two starters. This put us in a bit of a bind, especially given the remote location.
