The hotel has a fantastic location and the reception staff were very welcoming. However, we were surprised by the extra charges for services that are usually complimentary in most hotels, such as late check-in after 11 p.m. or storing luggage after check-out. In addition, the large number of messages and emails about fees and conditions before our arrival felt a bit overwhelming. While we appreciated the kindness of the staff, receiving these details in advance unfortunately set us up for a less positive experience.

The room had a front view of Mantua's main square, with a beautiful view of the cathedral and the ducal palace. Waking up to those views is a privilege!

The location on the main square was unbeatable. The buffet breakfast was fresh and good and served in a bright restaurant with open doors on to the square. The hotel had an old fashioned feel, but with decent facilities. We would recommend to friends and will stay again if we return to the beautiful city of Mantova.

AC is not availabe at the time, no fans in the room. Weather is not too cold to keep window close and be comfortable. We have to leave window open but street noise was too much we couldn't sleep.

The hotel corridors are short and narrow - feels a bit like a rabbit warren.

The hotel was in an excellent location relative to all the museums and attractions associated with the city being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our room was on the top floor and accessible by lift or stairs. Although a relatively small room, it was clean and comfortable for our one-night stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the hotel also offers a good, reasonably priced breakfast.

Hotel needs renovation, particularly the bathrooms and the doors, which let every sound from the corridor in the room. The breakfast was not at the level of other Italian hotels and they did not refill empty parts of the buffet even at 8 in the morning. Breakfast finishing at 9:30 also on Sundays.

The room and the bathroom were outdated and very simple.No Minibar, water bottle or even water boiler and tea bags. The ceiling was broken and the curtains not properly hanged so it could not be closed properly at night. The streetlights shone in making it rather light an uncomfortable to sleep in. I paid 15 Euro for the dog, which is generally fine, but unlike other hotels this one offered nothing in return, e.g. dog bed, food bowl etc. Due to my work I stay in hotels 70 nights per year and this one just.wasn't good value for.money, sorry to say.

It is very centrally located, right in the middle of the city center The room was clean and the staff was friendly.

The elevator wasn't working at first and we had to lug our luggage 4 floors. People were smoking in nearby rooms. The rooms and hallways were smaller in size than most hotels. The hotel was within the ZTL. Knowing what to do before checking in would be helpful for travellers with cars.

Check in was very welcoming. the location was great. they fixed the elevator within a few hours of our arrival. breakfast was an additional 10 Euros, but it had a variety of choices. They welcomed our pets, no questions or extra fees.

I'm really going to have to think hard because there was only one thing slightly wrong. I have to write three sentences so here's a filler one. My room I think was next to the central air conditioning unit so was a bit noisy at night.

Comfortable and right in the centre. It's only a 15 minute walk from the railway station. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nothing other than the curtain arrangement. Would be good to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Everything except that there was only one curtain at the window. The receptionist explained that we needed to close the shutters to provide extra darkness. Not always easy.
