How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewRooms were comfortable! Closet openings do expand they are push/pull. AC worked well, especially important during the Italian summer. The staff was phenomenal and super accommodating! They will store your luggage, gave recommendations about the city, and arranged transportation as well! We would stay here again!

Verified reviewJust 10 mins away from the train station and in a good location. Rooms were very spacious, modern and comfortable. Free water on the mini bar. I had a Turkish bath
Turkish bath didn’t function properly in my room so I didn’t get a chance to use it.

Verified reviewThe position is perfect, breakfast was very good, the room was spacious and clean and the hotel's facilities were top-notch. When I walked in, the staff made me feel right at home. The staff recommended dinner at the hotel's restaurant "Cotto" and the food was great. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a refined stay.

Verified reviewThe staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotels location was very convenient. The room was pretty large, modern and clean.
The sound insulation wasn't very good, even small noise from the street was heard as loud as the window were open.

Verified reviewThe staff was very kind and attentive. The location is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Termini train station, and the Republica metro station is even closer. There are plenty of restaurants in the area. I felt comfortable walking alone in the area around the hotel.
I booked a Superior Double room and didn't like the layout of the room. The headboard to the bed was a cabinet that doubled as the closet and nightstand. On each side of the cabinet was a closet area to hang things, but the entry was at most 24" wide. Beneath them were 3 small shelves that were to serve as a dresser. My stay was only 2 nights so I didn't make a fuss and could make do. Earlier in my Rome stay I was at the Dharma Style hotel (one block away) also in a Superior Room and that layout was more what I expected.

Verified reviewVery friendly staff, showed you main attractions and where to go, recommended restaurants and gave walking times, comfy bed and lovely spacious room. Stayed for my boyfriend’s birthday and added the romantic room service breakfast which was amazing and made the stay more special.
Only thing I would say is it can be quite noisy on the street and with cars beeping- but not the hotel’s fault.

Verified reviewGood location close to the train station
Nothing Luxury about this hotel, apart from the name and the price. Everything is dated, dirty inside. It’s a house that was converted into a hotel at low cost. Definitely not gonna stay here again.
Dear Romain, we are not at all surprised by your dissatisfaction, as it is evident that you did not pay attention to the description of our hotel when making your reservation. We have always been transparent in stating that we are a Boutique Hotel spread across multiple floors of a historic building, one of the few Art Nouveau structures in Rome. Your short stay was limited without the opportunity to fully experience what we offer our guests, including our well-assorted breakfast with homemade products, the FREE afternoon happy hour, and the attentive and caring service of our staff, which is widely recognized as one of our greatest strengths. We also find your comment regarding cleanliness surprising, as it is one of the most highly praised aspects of our hotel, as confirmed by numerous guest reviews and ratings. For these reasons, we believe that your review is neither reliable nor useful, neither for us nor for future guests, as the criticisms you raised have no factual basis. Additionally, the price you paid is fully in line with the market and our category. Andrea C. Front Office Manager

Verified reviewThe room was spacious and very clean. We only had breakfast once, but the breakfast was lovely and a wide selection of foods to eat. The location of the hotel was perfect. Only a 10/15 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain, amongst other attractions, most things were within walking distance of the hotel. The Roma Termini train station is also a 10 minute walk from the hotel, and so easy to get a train to/from the airport if needed. The staff were extremely helpful and very happy to help. The check in team gave us a detailed map of Rome and when and where is best to go and at what times of the day. They advised us on public transport closures and booked us a taxi back to the airport when we left. The hotel also keep hold of your luggage if you need them to, which is a nice bonus as not all hotels do that!
