How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe property is well located, just a 10-minute walk from Roma Termini station and the Metro, making it very convenient for getting around Rome. It was clean, secure, and the host gave us a warm welcome with snacks, sweets, and drinks, which was a lovely touch.
Nothing major to complain about—overall, a pleasant stay. I rated it a 9 only because the property is not very new and the kitchen is shared.

Verified reviewThis is a guesthouse on the 1st floor of a residential building with 3 bedrooms and one common kitchen/living room. Room was pretty clean, kitchen well-equipped, fresh linens, towels, slippers. The lady who checked us in was nice.
Our room (#2) smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The walls are paper-thin, we could hear the neighbors very well, which was unfortunate because they were screaming till 3 in the morning. There is also a lot of noise from the street even with the window closed and the neighborhood is not great.

Verified reviewIt was a really nice place: well cared-for, perfectly clean and with a comfortable bed.
The only issue I had was with the check in process. We tried to arrange the time in advance best we could, but we ended up having to wait about 40 minutes before getting in, which after a long, hot and difficult trip was a bit annoying. The lady was apologetic when she arrived, and I know things happen sometimes. Perhaps they could just find a slightly better check in system for the future.
Dear Kandice, Thank you for choosing Dillo Suites — we’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. However, we would like to offer a brief clarification regarding your comment about the check-in process. As clearly stated in the messages exchanged via Booking.com, our property does not have a fixed reception. For this reason, we kindly ask all guests to contact us at least 30 minutes prior to arrival so we can ensure a smooth welcome. In your case, unfortunately, we did not receive any communication before your arrival at the property. Your call only came through when you were already outside, accompanied by two pets that had not been previously mentioned. This resulted in a slight delay in welcoming you — approximately 20 minutes, not 40 as stated in your review. We would also like to point out that, thanks to our remote door access system, you were able to enter the building and wait inside, in a shaded area with a significantly cooler temperature compared to the outside. We are always open to dialogue and attentive to feedback, but we believe it’s important to also share our side of the story, out of respect for our work and in the interest of transparency with all guests.

Verified reviewThe space was amazing. The decor was also amazing. Having the kitchen and all the facilities was also amazing.
Unfortunately our AC stopped working on the last night. It would turn on for 5 minutes and then start flashing. Nothing that could’ve been done at 2am. It was just very unfortunate.

Verified reviewNice bed, large room, spacious common area We loved the location.
No fault of Dillo Suites, but one of the guests thought that cooking an odiferous piece of greasy meat and creating billowing smoke would be a good idea. It wasn't, and it took several days for the odor to dissapate. The water flow in unt 3 was very weak.

Verified reviewThe host is very welcoming, the apartment is well organized and equipped with everything you would find at a hotel room; hairdryer, dental kit, bathroom necessities; we found a welcome basket at the room filled with different kinds of biscuits, chocolates, cakes, croissant... the commo area was descent and the kitchen was well equipped with what we needed to prepare basic hot drinks; coffee, tea and hot cocoa. They even have the option to leave your luggage at the apartment afte check out. I would definitely consider this place again for future visits to Rome.

Verified reviewOne of the cleanest properties I’ve stayed in in Rome and I’ve stayed in some very nice places in Rome. I hadn’t realized there was a shared kitchen/living area, but we’re pretty much stayed in our room the entire time.
It’s in an area near Termini Station which seems a bit sketch, but the apartment is a diamond in the rough and for the value, you can’t beat the price!
