Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South KoreaOne very very minor thing - the aircon remote controls screen doesn’t show the numbers clearly so you have to guess a little bit but it was fine for me. I played with it until I got a nice breeze going :)
This place is awesome but I’ll highlight the 3 I liked most! First, the owner is super kind and very helpful. She helped me check out late, find delicious restaurants in the area and hidden gems to check out in Rome. She responded quickly and kindly about any questions I had! Second, the LOCATION!! Right next to the Spanish Steps, about a 5 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and 3 subway stops from Termini. Very, very convenient to walk anywhere. I even walked to Trastavere which was about 30 minutes but so many beautiful things to look at on the way:) As a solo woman traveller I felt very safe in that location - it’s right next to a lot of cops keeping order at the Spanish Steps so I was never worried about walking at night. It was also great because it’s about 2 streets on either side to some really cool restaurants and gelato but still in a quiet place. Third, the solo room is BIG! I’m used to tiny one bed rooms but the bathroom is very spacious and modern. I was able to spread out my things a lot including my suitcase. I also loved that everyday I’d come back to my bed made, fresh towels, fresh coffee pods and an assortment of beers/juices/water in the mini fridge. Especially during the summer it was fantastic!! Also the aircon was so refreshing and made the summer bearable haha

United Kingdomnothing. It was amazing
The apartment is hosted by a super host. Simona was extremely attentive to all our questions and requirements. She hold our luggage before check in and after check out so we could enjoy Rome without being hindered by our suitcases. She also graciously extended our check out by 2 hours, so we could take a shower after our AM tour. She gave us plenty of local recommendations. The apartment is very well located, minutes from Piazza Spagna, and walking distance from all major attractions in Rome. It's very comfortable for large families I will definitely stay here again.

What I liked the most was that the room is spacious, it includes a minibar, and the bed is very comfortable. The hotel staff is very attentive, and the host replies to messages 24/7 to answer any questions. We were able to leave our luggage until the evening for our trip, and without a doubt, we would stay there again.

Proximity to restaurants, bars, shopping and major Roman landmarks. It was incredibly quiet given its central location. The staff were very helpful and great to chat with.

United StatesThe apartment is on the 3rd floor even though the owner calls it the 2nd floor (he counts the ground floor as "0"). The steps are extremely steep!
The location is fantastic. The apartment is fine. The host is really great and very helpful.

This accomodation was truly stunning. The room was large and well appointed, luxurious details and decor. The best shower, the most friendly manager, Simona had truly the best local recommendations in Rome. The location so central and in the heart of Rome, walking distance to everywhere. Even though no lift, it’s ok as you can get help with your bags. The check in process was very accommodating with clear directions. Would stay here again in a heartbeat - true insider knowledge of Rome shared with generosity, a great coffee machine and minibar in the room was restocked FOC daily..

PortugalThis room undoubtedly exceeded our expectations - it was much bigger than we expected, clean and tidy and very comfortable. The best aspects of the stay were i) the location, since we were able to go everywhere by foot and it is in the safest area of the city; and ii) Simona, the host, who received us so well and contacted us throughout the whole stay to make sure everything was going well (besides, she also gave us a lot of local recommendations, which made our vacation even more memorable).

GermanySimona the owner is one of the best! She welcomed me and gave the most detailed tour suggestions right after my check in. Commutation with she is easy, just remember to contact her before the stay, everything is going smoothly. The property is not like a traditional hotel but functions just the same. It is in the best location, foot distance to basically all the attractions in Rome. Rooms are clean, quiet and delightful. Would like to recommend it and would love to come back.

United KingdomI do not walk so well, so I found the stairs a bit of a challenge - very difficult with a suitcase. I do accept that the issue was perhaps more with me than the property. The hall floor has some semi hidden steps which are not marked and as such are a death trap. I fell once when I was not expecting a step to be there. An older person could have been hurt....all it needs is some tape to mark the danger zone, no need for a refurb. Not the land ladies fault, but... The flat below was being updated - we knew because at 7:30 am the builders unleashed the jack hammers. One night - around 3am - the fire alarms went off in the building,.
Location was great. loads of restaurants on the doorstep and shops (if that's what you want). I only met the landlady via text - but the interaction was first class. I read a review that stated the shower was small - it must have been refurbished as it was fine....and I like a big shower. I would stay again
