How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewEasy check-in process.
City tax had to be paid only by Bank transfer. No towels were put in my room, so I had to coordinate with the staff through WhatsApp to get them from the garage of the building. Dirty bathroom, with mold on the wall above the shower. Uncomfortable for showering too. No personal toiletries items are given for the shower, having only one SMALL (like the ones given in hotels to wash your hands) bar soap for all the 5 rooms. No shampoo either. Bad quality furniture.

Verified reviewIt was good value and basic but clean. It was better than some of the online reviews.
The exterior, especially the back of the premises need a lot of work. A good tidy up would go a long way to making it more attractive on first impressions.

Verified reviewThis apartment was absolutely horrible and I cannot believe it is listed on Booking.com. I paid 93€ for one night in what was essentially a poorly maintained room with a shared bathroom, and I regret every cent. The bedroom: the furniture was extremely old, damaged and cheap worse quality than basic IKEA. Boards along the wall and floor were not fixed, just lying there with nails sticking out, which felt unsafe. The fan provided was caked in thick black dust, clearly not cleaned in ages. The door itself was badly damaged and gave no sense of security or comfort. The bathroom: shockingly unhygienic. Black and red mould in the shower, yellow stains in the toilet, water-damaged bathroom furniture it was all in terrible condition and not acceptable for paying guests. Safety: I did not feel safe there. The front door to all the apartments was left open all night. I tried to raise these issues directly with the property through Booking.com, but my concerns were ignored. Even Booking.com’s own attempts to contact the owner (after I called twice) were ignored as well. Overall, this was one of the worst stays I have ever experienced. Unhygienic, uncared-for, unprofessional. Absolutely not worth the price. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this place it should not even be on Booking.com.

Verified reviewThe only good thing was that the floor of the room was fine.
The shared bathroom is a total disaster. Shower drain does not work, it gets flooded and the floor was dirty. The kitchen was full of food trash that was left there before.

Verified reviewThe location was okay, not bad not too far for the city. I think you actaully pay more for the location then the place itself.
I will be very honest here. I'm used to all kinds of accomodations since I'm on a travel since many years and I'm not a clean freak at all. I've been in many low cost places before. But I think its very sad to take so much money on such quality of accomodation. The sheets were smelling good, but full of hair. Handlebar dirty from I don't wanna know what. The room had no table or anything where I could put my things. The bathroom and shower was kind of okay. Kitchen was clean too. The place does not have the best soundproof doors so I reccomend you to bring some earplugs beacuse all the dooors inside makes so much noise, when someone goes in and out of their room or appartment.

Verified reviewThe property was in a nice location, room itself was nice and bright and it had a fully equipped kitchen
We were told we could leave our bags at the property at 11am when check in was 3pm but to keep it in the corner so the cleaner could clean the room. We arrived home at 7:30pm and the room had not yet been cleaned, after about an hour and a half which included getting moved to a different room, which was already occupied by someone else, our room was eventually cleaned. The staff were rude and almost dismissive and uncommunicative through the entire process and it was a struggle to get it sorted.

Verified reviewLocal restaurant very nice but nothing else in area
Bed squeaky and noisy, walls paper thin and room next to bathroom. One bathroom between 5 rooms and with washer inside so often waiting on other people. A fair way from the train station and one restaurant nearby, although it was very good

Practically nothing. The room could hardly be defined as such, nothing to do with the pictures, just two poor quality beds, no night table, no bed light, no kind of furniture, two ugly pictures that were supposed to be on the walls but were just abandoned in a corner, no air conditioning (and it gets really hot in Bolzano in July!), poor quality mattress and very hard pillow. There is one bathroom for four rooms and the shower, placed in the bath tub, just sprays onto the floor because the screens to prevent it are stuck together with tape and cannot be opened. There is a kitchen, not mentioned in booking.com (it’s obviously an apartment the owner used as an Airbnb without caring much about furnishing it. We didn’t use the kitcheng and I can’t say anything). On top of all that the host is very off hand. The telephone given with the booking is a Swiss number and unreachable; while we were there, little before midnight, an Asian girl rang the bell saying she had a booking but had not received any detail of how to enter, I opened the door of the floor but she couldn’t enter any room. She had tried to get in touch with the owner without success. We finally found an Italian telephone number in the instruction on the table of the entrance of the apartment and we called him but he insisted that he sent her the details! I even checked on the girl’s telephone and there was just the first message saying that details would have come and nothing else, either in the app or in messages/email and it took about 15 minutes to convince the guy to send the code of the room again…. Both I and my husband talked to him (I guess he preferred to speak Italian) and he was really rude, until in the end he just hung up (but he finally sent the codes). There was also another guest who said he too had had problems with the reception of the codes. The lack of basic comfort could be justifiable if the room were cheap (say 20-30€, hostel style), but surely not for 90€.

Verified reviewIt was really challenging to find this property. There were no blocking curtains on the front facing the street where a very bright light shined into the room. The shower was a joke with handle spraying water on bathroom floor. Would never recommend this place to stay.

Verified reviewSafe charming, quiet neighborhood.
The facility is a work in process and barely ready to be opened. No sign with name, not prominent building address, no hall light motion sensor, plumbing needs work--shower hose leaks half the water, toilet flows constantly, sink drains very slowly. Only electric outlet is at the door frame and the door knocked the connection out. There is nothing that can't be corrected to make the property attractive. I don't feel it's ready for the market.
