This was such an incredible experience staying in a cave apartment. It was such a beautiful unit in how the lighting was designed. The unit is much larger than the pictures and our family really enjoyed this unique experience. It’s easy to get around to all the sites from this location. Everything was exceptional and one of the best accommodations we have ever booked! We would definitely stay again.

FANTASTIC cave room in the best location! The room was absolutely amazing. I’ve stayed in a lot of places and this was the coolest place I’ve ever stayed. The staff was so helpful, went above and beyond to help when our car broke down, gave excellent restaurant recommendations and a parting gift. Couldn’t recommend this place more!!

The AC only worked occasionally, it would’ve been nice to have for more airflow.

The bath tub and shower are fantastic! The room is very large and well stocked, even included 2 bottles of local wine and some other drinks. Nice and comfortable beds.

It’s difficult to remove all the ‘sand’ from the room, but slippers are provided. I would have appreciated the greeter - Antonio - explaining the room to me, not my accompanying friend. Maybe it’s a culture thing, or a language thing…

Such a magical place to stay. They have done a nice job creating a relaxing environment. The shower is amazing! Lovely toiletries and drinks provided. Nicely located and the host I chatted with via message was really nice, although I wish the answers were a little more prompt.

A good experience living in the cave style room but large and clean. Check in is easy and we feel welcome even we arrive a little late in the day. Location is very good, since the car can send us to the hotel (only a small walk from the street), easy access to restaurants.

Great location and easily access by car (local transfer services) with only minimum walking distance. Rooms are beautifully decorated, a real cave house experience for us. The owner has provided info about parking etc which make it easy for our short stay.

A bit difficult to find - don’t bring a heavy suitcase as there are lots of steps to get to the property!

The room was very stylishly designed and very spacious, in a quiet street. The check-in process was quick and easy. There was no breakfast available at the property but we found excellent pastries and cappuccinos on the sunny terrace of cafe Tripoli just a few minutes walk away.

We had 'no' dislikes. We loved everything about this boutique hotel ! So centrally located and close to the main piazza. We enjoyed the small patio area just outside our room. Also, nice copper touches and the basin in the washroom.

Who would have thought a cave can be so authentically beautiful and comfortable! The room is large, spacious, quiet, very clean. The accommodation provides ample of towels, bathroom accessories, courtesy umbrellas, and plenty of pressure and hot water from the rain shower. We love the attention to details, the decor, and the ambient lighting effect.

Staying at a sassi has the only disadvantage of having to go up and down hundreds of steps. But it is worth the effort.

We liked everything, EVERYTHING!- except the steps to arrive to our sassi. But we decided that a taxi was a good investment, and we solutioned the problem. The rooms are amazingly decorated, confortable beds, a bar plenty of everything you can desire, (and everything included in the price), the staff super helpful. We loved the place!

The property was very clean and well maintained. The location was in the center of Sassi close to all attractions. Welcome mini bar was very nice and enjoyed the local wines. Overall great stay at Enotrio.

I absolutely loved my stay at Enotrio. The cave room we stayed in was beautiful, down to every stylistic detail. The room was large, very clean, and quiet. The shower was amazing and rejuvenating. Huge bathroom with free toiletries. The bed was a little squishy for us since we prefer firmer beds but was not a huge issue. The minibar was the best minibar I've come across and was so great for our stay. We enjoyed the included wine at the courtyard tables that were right outside our door for a nice evening. Host was responsive. Great location for walking to sights and main parts of Matera. Cannot wait to come back!!

It was located right inthe middle of Sassi district, very unique and wonderful experience for our family during our 3 nights stay in Matera! Nicely decorated and well maintained, fresh linen daily. Breakfast was a short walk. Host was very communicative. Highly recommend.

I like a light breakfast but for those expecting something more lavish, pre arrange it.

This is a superb collection of apartments with delightful decor and accommodation that is definitely comfortable during the heat of the summer. The location is a little oasis just below Main Street and very quiet with little passing foot traffic. A few steps up from road but suitcase’s can be managed with a little bit of help. what a delightful mini bar gesture !

Its a walk to the car park so pack light and try and leave as much luggage in your car as you can. Well it though as the location is right in the heart of the historic city.

What a fantastic location and stunning property, dug into the rock it felt cool and comfortable. the rooms were big and very clean with free drinks in the fridge, big TVs and a good bathroom. Thoroughly recommended.

Super b & b and absolutely impeccable with every attention to detail. From monogrammed towels, free fridge with wine, water and soft drinks. Such a cool place to stay in a very large cave. Modern amenities. Beds so comfortable and good location. Excellent communication.
