How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I liked everything. Strongly recommend for new clients as a very place for stay . A slightest point - the ac in our room was not working at its best . I believe it was an exceptional disorder

Central and excellent staff helping us check in and keeping rooms clean. The parking permit and easy availability of parking also helped, and an electric charging station 60m further along was excellent! Breakfast options also top-class thanks.

Sometimes receptionist are not well informed about local events. I asked about jazz festival advertised locally and was told it was in Lucca!!
Close to Trainline and shopping street. Very comfortable room. Helpful staff at reception. Great cocktail of the day.

This is the third time I have stayed the at this hotel. The property is very well appointed, and all the staff we encountered were all polite and very helpful. The rooms were large, very clean, comfortable and well furnished. We enjoyed the breakfast which offered an excellent choice and of good quality. We ate in the restaurant, which provided a superb meal in beautiful surroundings. I believe the costs represented good value for money. I would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again.

Location is in the centre , price is very good. The hotel is clean and has outdoor nice cozy sittings . I would definitely recommend

The furniture is a little bit old, but it is not critical at all… Bath set (shampoo, conditioner and gel) highly recommended

The smell of food in the reception area in the afternoon
Beautiful building in center of beautiful town. Friendly staff and great value. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was also very good

This is an older hotel so in a few respects it's not as modern perhaps as other hotels, but that was really minor as it's art deco authentic style shines through and the other factors listed above hugely outweigh any minor (very few) less positive factors, in my view.
This a really lovely Italian hotel with an outstanding restaurant featured in the Michelin guide (La Pecora Negra) - we had an amazing meal there - absolutely superb! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel because the staff and the owner are so helpful and happy, the hotel is spotless, it's in a really safe quiet area and it's very authentic and well run establishment.

We could hear the neighbours so acoustic is not that good. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed but we received a meessage as it were open. Staff quindly suggested very good restaurants nearby.

Car parking on the street was difficult to find. In the end, the best option was one of the larger parking lots, the one called P3, which was a ten-minute walk from the hotel.
We liked the breakfast each morning. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Location was good, close to many restaurants in the city center.

The furniture, the carpet, were old and stained. It was chill in the room (December). There was an air conditioner that was used for heating but it took a while to heat the room.
The staff at the reception were very kind. The bed was comfortable, and large bathroom. The breakfast variety and quality was really good. The rooms were very big.

Old style key entry to room was cumbersome. Was difficult for me to get door unlocked (senior with arthritis).
Location was exceptional. However when I tried to walk from the train station to the Hotel, I found out there are 2 train stations in this city. The one I disembarked at was much more than 5 minutes walk to the hotel. Hotel lobby, reception and breakfast areas were very appealing. Well kept hotel.
