Amazing place for a quiet and authentic Tuscan getaway plus delicious wine to enjoy! Merlot was the sweetest furry friend and Umberto/his family was very hospitable!

It wasn't set up for full self catering: only a stove and a small fridge, no oven, but this was adequate for making breakfast and lunch and we went out for dinner. Otherwise nothing: It was a beautiful place.

The Fattoria met all our expectations. We had a large 2 room apartment which was very comfortable with outside area/balcony. We had the Tuscan dinner/wine tasting one night which was a wonderful evening where we sat with other guests from Germany,Belgium,US,France, Italy, Netherlands to socialise. Nice pool area. The staff were always accomodating and friendly: Our fridge wasn't working and we had trouble with our plug converters being the wrong size when we arrived, and they went out of their way to sort this out for us. The beautiful dog, Merlot! The location / views and ambience of the little hamlet were superb. We were a short drive to San Gimignano. We enjoyed the walking through the vineyards (4.4km to San Gimignano or just an out and back for a shorter walk) with wonderful views (se the photos). There was a hotel a few minutes walk and another 'Locanda' in the hamlet for dinner options on nights where the Fattoria did not offer dinner.

This place was so beautiful and peaceful. Very clean with lovely pool that had a great view. The wine from the vineyard was delicious and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Can’t express how magical this place feels - I can’t really fault it!

The staff went well above in helping me during the vacation when I had a health issue. They also did the same again when a taxi I reserved did not show up. Not only is the property beautiful and the food is delicious, but the staff made us feel like family.

Loved it - nothing to complain about

This place is magical. We loved it when we saw it on Booking.com and when we got there in person it was even more beautiful. For a group of 13 - 6 Adults & 7 kids - it was perfect. Angelica and Ricardo were superb to deal with ensuring we were always comfortable. Great location, stunning views, lovely apartments & rooms. Swimming pool well maintained - our kids loved it!

It was expensive. I’d suggest a little over priced. We’d have liked to do more but out of our price range.

We loved our stay at San Donato and it definitely exceeded expectations. We felt so welcomed by the family and their staff, and so at home in their beautiful Tuscan farm. It’s a peaceful and relaxing retreat away from the busy nearby towns, the food is incredible and you must must must do the family dinner and steak night. A stay to remember, we’ll be back!

Beautiful property and location, peaceful setting. Woke up to stunning views and birds singing. Completely renovated and well-equipped apartment decorated with rustic elegance vibe. Accommodating hosts. Lovely courtyard for taking breakfast outside. Good wine. Neighboring hotel across roadway had good meal options for lunch and dinner. Less than 10 minute drive to San Gimignano.

The breakfast was the only thing that was not up to standard....The tea and coffee were not hot enough....there was no choice of cappuncino...we had ate breakfast in a lucca hotel...the day before and it was much better quality, so we only had it once while staying there.

Mr Umberto and the Staffs were wonderful and helpful in guiding us to the best places to visit. Very warm welcome and kind goodbye. The location is spectacular and allows us to explore various areas with ease.

If the wine shop could also stock bread, meats and cheese it would be nice to be able to buy on-site.

Warm welcome, friendly staff. Got immediately into a wine tasting and was able to buy and drink as soon as we arrived. Breakfast was provided but we went out every day. The dog, Merlot, was lovely. Great location, nice resturant up the road (the one on site was a little pricey).
