How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewFantastic venue. Location, service, facilities, restaurant and wines were all amazing. The brothers (owners) were very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. They delivered a delicious wine tasting for us and provided us with knowledge of local must visits etc. very relaxing property with spectacular view of Etna, beautiful restaurant experience and a lovely pool and garden area. Highly recommend this property as a great base to explore the region or just hang out and relax.

Verified reviewThis is a very special place to stay. Incredible, peaceful location with a view of Mount Etna from the hotel terrace and surrounded by hills, vineyards and olive groves. Beautiful hotel with a big pool and lots of space, great restaurant and breakfast. The highlight was doing the wine tasting experience and seeing the traditional cellars that are part of the property owned by the family. We were lucky to have Corado, one of the owners, do the wine tasting and his enthusiasm was fantastic! The whole package is amazing value for money with generous glasses of the exceptional wine the vineyard produces, plus incredible local food to accompany it. One of the best wine tastings we have experienced and we particularly appreciated the space we were given to enjoy it. We wished we had booked longer.

Verified reviewThe vineyard location on the slopes of Mt Etna, and the upper terrace for breakfasts and dinner with the view up the volcano, were stunning. The decor and sculptures were charming and added well to the overall ambiance. The food and wine experience was superb, and will have us coming back.

Verified reviewThe place was great for visiting Etna and the views were spectacular from the terrace we came to this place to visit Erna and drink some wine , we had a great meal there on the first night with the balcony to ourselves, the staff were really good for the food service and the food and wine was quite good for a small B&B and winery. The red 2014 was ace . The staff were really good for the evening service and the price was good on booking.com as it was last minute as we were travelling around Sicily .
We didn’t get the warmest of welcome, or any information about the hotel or the wine ( which was the whole point of being there- it’s a vineyard) or any of the facilities like the pool Or the grounds essentially just shown our room and nothing else . The bathroom smelled so bad of cigarette smoke we couldn’t really be in there for long , windows didn’t work or the electric blinds , the fridge was making a devilish noise like it was possessed , and the air con was extremely loud . So not the best nights sleeping . Breakfast wasn’t great we skipped it the second day , stale bread and old fruit . Though the place was beautiful from the outside we were happy to be leaving .

We must acknowledge that during your stay, despite asking you several times if everything was to your liking, you always told us that everything was fine. Now, not so much for us, as we will certainly take the less-than-favorable aspects as a starting point for improvement, but rather for you, who, by letting us know of your inconveniences in time, would have enabled us to remedy them, making your stay even more enjoyable. The only drawbacks were that the A/c was not particularly strong, and given the place advertised as a wine experience, I was surprised there was no tasting or even glass of wine included in the stay.
