Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyYou can hear the other guests coming back to their rooms and talking in the hallway. The soundproofing is not ideal.
We had a lovely stay at Fragrance Hotel St. Peter. The location was ideal for us (could walk to the city centre, nice restaurants nearby) and the view of St. Peter's cathedral from the balcony was truly breathtaking. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The staff were all very friendly.

HungaryWe truly enjoyed our stay at Fragrance Hotel St. Peter. The location is exceptional – within a short walking distance from the Vatican, yet tucked away on a quiet street that offers peace after a day of sightseeing. Ideal for exploring the Eternal City on foot or by public transport. The staff were consistently attentive, professional, and kind – always ready with a smile or helpful tip. Their thoughtful gestures made our stay even more enjoyable. The room was compact but very well laid out, spotless, and comfortable. We had a lovely view, which added a charming Roman touch to our mornings. Breakfast was above expectations for this category – a fresh, varied buffet that included both sweet and savory options, and quality coffee to start the day right.

United StatesNo Metro stop nearby. Only after a few days, did we learn that the regional train (6 minutes away) will take you to the Metro for 1 Euro.
Very close to St. Peter’s square and good neighborhood restaurants. Staff was very helpful.

LithuaniaProperty was better than I expected, room was really good size ( with surprisingly big bed) and very clean, and this room had an amazing view to the St.Peters basilica. Staff who working in hotel are amazing, very polite, very helpful. Always make sure that you will have everything and give all information you needed. Breakfast had different options and was really tasty. If you will be tired after long day and still will wish to go out they have amazing Gallo roof top and you can enjoy amazing food and the view. I will definitely will visit this hotel.

SpainThe only downside is that it's a bit far from the city, but it's manageable with buses. If you're coming from the airport, there's a train station right next to the property.
Simple but great for a short stay. The shower and bed are excellent, and the room is quiet. Breakfast offers a variety of options and a beautiful view.

United StatesFolks from the US need to remember that the shower glass doesn’t keep all the water in. Do make sure wipe the water off floor. Slippery floor. Rooms are decent sized.
The breakfast was good. Loved the coffee maker and view! Staff very helpful. Getting up the hill to hotel was tricky but what a view at the top. You’re right next to the Vatican and subway. Great location.

United Kingdomnothing really - we prefer a gym or pool but we knew when booking that this hotel didn't have those facilities!
This is a really lovely hotel! All staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful and the beds were SO comfortable (so much so that we were disappointed to go home to our own beds!). The property is well-located, although there is not much of note in the immediate area, but the Vatican City is a short 10 min or so walk away. Breakfast was good value, with lots of options.

United KingdomThe room (which was upgraded on arrival) wasn't very big and there was virtually no space to unpack. Only six coat hangers, no drawers at all and no proper shelving space. We also asked for two glasses in the room so that we could have cold drinks from the fridge but were refused as the staff said that plastic cups (two provided in the bathroom) were more ECO friendly. Rooftop bar/restaurant was a disappointment. We were given a drinks menu but none of the options on the wine list were available. We had to ask to see the bottles so we could make our choice. We then picked out the spicy beef ragu from the menu. There was no tomato based sauce and no spice. Not sure that the dish was seasoned either. Our wine choice was good but we felt short changed for our 68 euros. Didn't eat there a second time.
Breakfast staff were lovely and reception staff mostly helpful. The continental breakfast was good but a better variety of eggs would be a lovely addition. The neighbourhood had no specific vibe as it was a residential area though there were good restaurants within ten minutes walk and St Peter's Square was twenty minutes walk.

PolandNothing bad to say. Just a normal 3* hotel.
Perfect location: 10 mins walk to Vatican city and only 3-4 mins walk to San Pietro train station. Very kind personnel, beautiful breakfast and bar terrace with a Basilica di San Pietro at a distance. Delicious Italian bakery for the breakfast and tasty cocktails at a bar. We definitely recommend this hotel!
