The historical building of the hotel was nice, but the soundproof between the rooms was the only annoying part. But after a long day, who cares.

The whole experience was in general fantastic and lovely, starting from the warm welcoming of the stuff, to the cleanness of the hotel and to end up with its perfect location where everything in Verona is just steps away.

The room could be larger, and the furniture could be more comfortable. But in this case, it is justified by the unique atmosphere of the old building.

Gabbia D'Oro, is a special place. Our stay in April was absolutely magical. This was our 2nd stay albeit 12 and a half years apart. We were coming back to Verona as part of our anniversary trip to the area. The hotel is of a higher class and you feel it when you are there. Though expensive to other hotels, it is worth every penny. The hotel is in a fantastic position to enjoy Verona. Having loved our stay over a decade ago we didn't want to stay anywhere else. The staff were all amazing. They were so friendly, helpfull, informative and nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is so central to the wonderful streets of the old town, including Piazza Delle Erbe. Everything is within walking distance including Casa di Giulietta, the Arena, the river, endless shops and restaurants and ice cream parlours. We were made to feel so special staying at Gabbia D'Oro, that by the end we felt like spoiled family members. We cannot praise the hotel and staff enough. This is the only hotel we will come back to when we return to Verona. Booking.com did make a bit of a mess of our booking while we were away on our trip, with a few days till our arrival at the hotel they cancelled our booking without sufficient notice. We were able to rebook thankfully though at a higher price than initially booked, and not after some panic. On emailing the hotel they were so helpful and were excellent with the rebooking. A special thank you to Linda and all the staff for making our anniversary trip so special and the wonderful gift we received on our departure.

We haven’t seen this hotel style in a very long time. Amazing boutique, perfectly and centrally located. Amazing team, helpful and welcoming. Bathrooms are immaculate, hotel rooms are spacious, and decorated with charm - would definitely book again !

I know it was the holiday season but we arrived on Friday 27 December and left on Monday 30 December but could not get any laundry done during this time. For a five star hotel (using Booking,com's ranking) this was frustrating.

Unbeatable location so close to Piazza D'Erbe. Nice feel to our room and the breakfast room. Very helpful staff at front desk and at breakfast.

Staff were the best we have experienced. Polite, efficient and nothing was too much bother. They bent over backwards to offer advice, sort out problems and proactively with us during our 9 day stay. In fact they always went an extra mile with us, during our stay. The hotel was very centrally located and charming and eclectic with the furnishings and ornaments. If you are looking for a modern hotel, this is not the place for you. The building is apparently 14th/15th century and very quirky in the nicest sense. We will definitely go back and stay there in the future. It was fantastic.

to get there by car is hard because the hotel is located in a pedestrian area - so watch out for instructions from the hotel

the hotel is in the very city center and provides valet parking. we enjoyed an amazing breakfast and the building is full of history. of course, it is a little bit old and old style but perfect fit for Verona

The bathroom was very dated, could do with an upgrade. If they would, then I'd give the hotel a 10 score.

The photos on the site don't do justice to this fantastic hotel. The photos make it look a bit messy/crowded, but it was very cozy and clean. True 5-star service in the hotel, and excellent breakfast, and that right at the corner of the main market square of the city.

Less furniture in our room. It was so packed that we hardly had room to move. However they very kindly removed three chairs which gave more space. Very limited supply of toilettes and no body lotion supplied. If I had know I would have brought my own supplies.

Good breakfast. The staff knew what we wanted every day and fetched warm freshly baked croissants from the local bakery. Delicious freshly squeezed orange juice each morning.

Gabbia S'Oro was excellent. Super room. Great breakfast. Super friendly and helpful staff. Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Finding the hotel is a challenge. Highly recommended.
