How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLovely front facing room on a fantastic balcony. Great views of Ischia and Naples. It was spotlessly clean with modern furnishings and a nice bathroom. The staff are very friendly, especially Maria on the front desk and Julio who seemed to do most of the driving for the hotel who offer the good courtesy shuttle to the station (which is only six minutes from Sorento) or to Sorento itself. We took the train to Naples, Sorento and Herculaneum. It's cheap and frequent but busy. You may have to stand. Public bus to Sorrento runs every 20 mins, stops just down the road and is only 2 Euros to Sorento. The walk through Meta to the station is quite steep. There is a lift from the main beach up to the road (by the bus stop). The hotel restaurant is good for dinner and lunch (along with the beach bar) and breakfast was also good with cooked options and more cakes than I have ever seen. Breakfast and dinner waiting team were also very friendly and helpful. Meta is an authentic Italian Amalfi town, not a tourist trap like Sorento. The people are friendly and there are some great restaurants too. Try Tico Tico for authentic family Italian or Tavernetta58 for some of the best fine dining I have ever had and at a very reasonable price. If Tavernatta58 was anywhere else it would be packed out. Try it if you like fine dining/tasting menus. There is a great wine shop and a cheese opposite here too. The rooftop bar is great. It was open every evening without issue. I should comment on the noise that some other reviews mention. There was a function on when we stayed. It was noisy and went on til 1am but it was a well run, good value event. At least the hotel was trying something and they need to make money after all. The general sound proofing could be a bit better but I guess that's down to the age of the building but the double glazing is excellent. We took ear plugs. The music didn't bother us but if it is likely to be an issue for you, ask for a room on a lower...
A very minor point but I think £20 a day for 2 sun beds is a bit steep, especially for families. Perhaps they could introduce a lower charge later in the afternoon. The sand is cleaned daily however and there's a nice beach bar. A kingfisher visits the rocks first thing! Look out for it.

Verified reviewThe property was lovely. The room was lovely and clean and the view was beautiful. Staff were very helpful. On checking out we were offered a complimentary shuttle to the train station. I would 100% recommend anyone to stay here.
The property is a good bit away from sorrento town but there is a public bus stop 50m from hotel that travels very regularly into sorrento and the hotel can provide a shuttle bus in the evening

Verified reviewThe seaside and view were beautiful
A little secluded, and our room was too close to the noise. Charging for beach towels, chairs and umbrella are not cool.

Verified reviewQuiet location right on the water so there was a bit of a cool ocean breeze .Rooms were very comfortable and clean .Breakfast was excellent and had omelettes and bacon and eggs cooked fresh to order .But the standout feature of the hotel and the reason I gave it a 10 rating was the staff .They went out of their way to assist at all times .Not only did they pick us up from the station but the shuttle actually took me to the pharmacy when I was sick one day .In fact every time we wanted to do to the station the dropped us off and picked us up which saved us a lot of money
Nothing about the property at all. The only complaint I had was with the cruise along the Almalfi coast .We booked that through the hotel ( but I must stress that do not run it and are not responsible for how it is run ) We envisioned a leisurely cruise along the coast but this particular day it was raining and they sold way too many tickets .We were all crammed onto a rickety boat where there were not enough seats and a lot of people had to stand in very rough seas for the 2 hour trip .We couldn’t see out of the windows as they fogged up with that many people on board .Many were seasick as well .I know they can’t help the weather but I think you should expect a seat for that amount you pay .

Verified reviewExcellent beachfront location. We paid for a suite with sea view and private terrace which were well worth it. The hotel was very clean and the room was well decorated and in good condition
Better explanations about what was included. We weren’t told that sunbeds, umbrellas and beach towels were included with the suite. Really annoying was a late night party with very my loud dance music from the rooftop bar, which was directly about our suite. We had to be up at 5.00am and the music went on until midnight. This isn’t acceptable.

Verified reviewNicely located as long as you have your own transportation or don't mind taking buses. Private beach. Stunning view from the restaurant/rooftop bar. Staff were mostly very nice and helpful. Shuttle to train station.
The solo room I had (210) was not that great for 3 reason. 1. It was not that nice to look at (however still clean). 2. It was tucked away with no view. 3. It was right next to two staff entrances! As a result there were doors slamming and staff talking outside the room window as early as 5am during my stay. This was mentioned to the front desk and they kindly had a word with the rest of the staff to keep the noise down a bit which was appreciated. Lastly the rooftop bar closed at 9:30 which I found to be a little early and potentially due to the fact they were setting up for a private event. Either way 9:30 is too early in my eyes and if they closed that early due to the event then thats even worse. The rest of the guests shouldn't be made to miss out on a major part of the hotels facilties because of a private event. Am I being entitled? Perhaps...
