How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The wooden shutter and the skirting were broken but to be honest the rest was perfect so we didn’t care. Everything was perfect.

Verified reviewThe staff was really nice. The property is at a nice location and near a lot of shops and different stores. The room was okay, there were some details that could be cleaner but overall a good experience.
The loud noises coming from the corridor of people talking.

Verified reviewThe location was excellent. Vatican City was on 15 minutes walk, Via del Corso and the other sights were max 30 minutes walk. The staff was really friendly and nice.
The room was really hot and had a few broken things but nothing to so bad.

Verified reviewThe staff was very very nice and the reception is 24H, which we really needed since we got to the hotel at 3 AM. Also, they were always ready to give us information when needed. Unfortunately, however, thisbwas the only positive side of the stay.
As i want to be fair, I'll explain by bullet points: - we expected a hotel, but it was more of a room rent really - the hotel is located inside of a building, but it does not occupy the entire building. It only occupies one part of the 1st floor, so ir was a bit difficult to find as we did not expect that - we got an economic room and we expected that, a simple room with basic ammenities, what we did not expect was a full disaster though. - the room's shape was very weird. The side where the bathroom was, was so close to the bed that it almost touched its door. - the room smelled like humidity - the bathroom simply smells awful. We needed to leave the window open all night. - the bed was comfortable, but the pillows were si.ply disgusting. I have never ever seen pillows that had kind of pertruding dots in them and without any type of sheets on them. I literally woke up every night to get them away from me because I felt disgusted by them. - aside from that the bed was average, but we really couldn't rest in it because of the pillow situation. - the lamps on top of the bed were so dirty that whenever we turned them on, we could see the dust from the rolm around them. Very unsettling. - the lamp on the square table beside the bed was FULL of stains. I have never ever seen something like this in a hotel room. - the bathroom really was something else... - the shower head did not have any type of support, it just hanged there and, as if it wasn't enough, it leaked so bad that more water came out of the leak at its base than from the head itself. - the wc cover was so much tinier than the actual wc that it made it pretty u comfortable to use. The location is amazing and the staff is very very nice, but we got a hotel to rest, and we really couldn't do so due to the explained above. I am sorry, but I would not recommend the economic rooms at all and I really hope that the other rooms are up to the standards that they actually should cover.

Verified reviewThe female evening receptionist was an absolute joy, and the male cleaning staff were exceptional. The room was so quaint with balcony and high ceilings.
On booking.com it says there is breakfast and in the hotel there isn't. The day receptionist was a horrible man who was put out when I asked for the room that I'd booked on the first night and after I asked for a late checkout on the last day became incredibly impatient. I had to beg for the room I had actually booked and not the one they placed me in on the first night. After id travelled quite far to get there was exhausted and was confused that the room I was in wasnt the one id booked, the bed was uncomfortable and it felt cramped it made me feel quite ill because it had a view of the lift shaft which was in the courtyard and was see-through and I could see the lift going up and down all the time which gave me motion sickness, I explained this to him and I felt gaslit because he didnt seem to believe that could be a thing, the bed in the first room was also too hard for me to sleep on, so it ruined my first night. I explained that I wanted the room the I booked, and it ruined my entire first morning, having to move my stuff. He made everything my problem and at the end of my stay he was so vile he threatened to and seeminly did call the police to intimidateme to leave on the last day (I tried to explain about my disability and how it takes me longer to get ready but once again felt gaslit.) I had to then seek solace in the restaurant next door and asked them to get my bags and store them for me instead of use my free storage for the day at the hotel, because of how unwell I felt with the interactions with this receptionist- this totally ruined my last day in Rome. Who calls the police on a guest staying in their hotel trying to take care of themselves?

Verified reviewGreat location, friendly staff. Good wifi, worked well.
There was some minor damage in the room: a piece of baseboard was missing, it looks very ugly, and it is not difficult to fix at all, it is strange why this has not been done yet. Also the wooden door to the balcony was also crushed in one place. The damage is not critical, but it looks terrible.
