Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Nikos, the owner, was superb. His recommendations for restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, directions, etc., were excellent. My wife said, "He made our trip." Breakfast was served elegantly by Nikos in the library at any time we requested. Our two rooms were beautifully appointed with heirloom antiques. The vaulted ceilings and frescoes amazed us. The private bathroom was modern with great water pressure, and the two rooms' air-conditioning worked well. We were treated exceptionally and hope to return in a few years. Finally, the location couldn't have been better..-- I wish we could rate this higher than 10!

United StatesNothing. A very well-maintained property with all the amenities to make you comfortable: Keurig coffee, tea makers, refrigerator, air conditioning, electrical plugs well placed for charging phones.
A beautiful mansion and a unique experience that will make a great memory. If you are lucky enough to book one of the three suites, do t hesitate. When have you slept in a suite with a domed ceiling 25 feet above your bed adorned with a fresco of angels? Nico the knowledgeable, helpful and warm host made our stay special. He spent a lot of time marking our map with places to see and the best restaurants, ice cream shops. He made us feel like family who were staying in their 150-year-old mansion. We loved the two balconies perched above two streets where we could watch locals pedal by in bikes, as well as international tourists. The location is fabulous, in the old walled city, around the corner from the Duomo and easy to walking distance to all the attractions and restaurants, shops and lively bars. Nico was extremely helpful with directions to parking.

The apartment is gorgeous, just like live in the history. Everything is original from about 200 years ago. The host is very nice, he gave us very helpful suggestions like where to eat and where/what to see in Lecce. The location is very central while still quite when we closed the windows/doors.

This was a fabulous place to stay while checking out Lecce. The apartment is in the absolute centre of the town in a 200 year old building with the spacious apartment furnished with wonderful antiques. When we left the apartment each time we were right in the middle of everything. We parked our car within the building which made it so easy. The living room and bedroom was huge with beautiful 14ft ceilings all beautifully decorated. Nikos the owner was extremely helpful and advised us restaurants and locations to visit along with the history of the building. The breakfast was wheeled into our living room on a trolley and we could not help feeling we were royalty. We could sit on our balcony of the bedroom and watch the activity in the narrow streets below but the apartment was super quiet. Great stay if you want to feel special! Thanks Nikos for everything.

United StatesWe didn't like the fact that we had to leave this place.
My wife and I loved the rooms, the staff, the location and the breakfasts. When I say rooms I mean rooms, not a room. The B & B is located in a mansion owned by an aristocrat in the late 9th century. My wife gasped when our host, Nico, opened the door and she saw a beautiful and aithful reproduction of a 19th century sitting room. It was a 20x30 ft room with balcony and a 25 ft high arched ceiling and chandelier. Our bedroom, of similar size, was adjacent and similarly decorated. Parking was in an old carriage house located below the rooms. Breakfasts were served in our rooms and we felt like the Duke and Duchess of Lecce. I can not say enough about our hosts, Nico and Valencia. My wife injured herself and required medical attention. Nico drove her to the emergency room at 8 PM and stayed with her to insure she received proper treatment. He, then, took her to an all-night pharmacy to fill a prescription written by the doctor. The location of the place could not be better. It is within the old city walls and easy walking distance to restaurants and historical buildings. I am not a guy to write rave reviews but I make an exception in this case. If you plan on visiting Lecce, do yourself a favor an stay at this B & B.

FranceThere was nothing we disliked. Couple very minor points to note. The mattress in the room was comfortable but a little old and had lost its shape. The air conditioning was great, but only in the bedroom and not the living room. Also, if you are driving, worth being aware that driving in central Lecce is narrow and pedestrianised, took us a little while to get used to.
A lovely stay in a very spacious room, filled with interesting historical pieces and even a working piano. It is right in the centre of Lecce and, if the car park is available, is the perfect place to base yourself. Nikos was a superb host, very welcoming and knowledgable, really made sure we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was really good too, delivered to your room in the morning. Hope to return one day!

AustraliaWords fail me. The location is amazingly convenient in the historical centre. The property is a 19th century family palazzo, furnished in the original style of that era. The spacious drawing/ lounge room and generous bedroom both have there own balcony so you can enjoy the quiet mornings or view the activity in the evenings. The king size bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is stylish and the shower is great. Our host Nikos was waiting for us when we arrived and helped us explore Lecce. FinlandBest service and gorgeous palatial rooms furnished with things actually from the original house back in the old days. Of course, even if they have some period pieces, the rooms are equipped with modern furnishings like AC and electric kettle. Each room is massive with two balconies over looking old town. A nice surprise was that breakfast was delivered to you every morning on a bar cart. You can even make personalization and ask the host what you would want them to bring. The host are also very hospitable and helped us provided recommendations and bus routes.
