How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery comfy beds. Huge kitchen area with many pots and pans.
The only male bathroom is downstairs through the kitchen which is a little strange and annoying. Also guests were pushed out of the hostel right at 10am. Normally check out time only means out of the bedrooms. Most hostels let you sit around for a bit before leaving the building.

The amenities weren't good. Bathroom was downstairs so had to go up and town to use the restroom. No light in the room so had to grapple in the dark. Room size was very small.

Verified reviewLocation- Close to Bari Station as well as all the bus stops connecting you for day trips. Had a Lidl next to it so you could buy groceries/ food etc. I stayed here twice and I have mixed reviews. In my first visit 3 days ago the room was a decent size and surprisingly had a luggage rack which is rare in a hostel. But 3 days later when I came back I got another room which was very tiny, hardly any place to open your luggage without disturbing another person.
There was no light in the room so after dark you were basically using the torch of your phone to see what you were doing. Very strange..also, the showers didn't really have a curtain or a complete door, lack of privacy. The toilets had malfunctioning lights or the locks didn't work. And they were in the basement so you had to go up and down to use the restroom. Also the ACs weren't very effective.

Verified reviewI arrived late in the evening, I slept, I left my small bag for 5.30€, came back at 2pm after running, asked to take a shower (which I had not take yet) and they told me I could not. I asked if I could pay the shower, ‘yes the cost of the night, which is 35’ ‘seriously?’ ‘I can make you 25’ thank youuu and see you in another life

Verified reviewAll the facilities and everything were fine, it was actually a really good stay until the end.
On my checkout day, checkout time is 10am, at 9.20 I was packing my bags in the room when two ladies came in and started taking the bedding off all the beds. I’m fine with them starting early but when the room is that small they were constantly pushing past me making me feel like I’m in the way when I still have every right to be there still. I managed to throw all my things in my bags and get out the room out of their way so I went downstairs to the communal area where I thought I would be able to sit for a little while to finish planning my travel before I head to the train station. But no. Another girl was down there as well with her bags and the two of us basically got kicked out of the hostel, if it’s “your check out day you get out” I’ve never had that before in a hostel, usually as long as your belongings are out of the room so they can make it up for the next guest it’s fine to sit in the communal area until you need to leave but not here, you can’t even leave your bags here and come back for them later without having to pay a fee. All this would have been fine if the staff had gone about it the right way however the way they spoke to us I found so rude! Having not seen any staff at all during my stay, these two interactions with staff were the only interactions I had and both were really bad.

Verified reviewA good hostel for its price, the rooms have air conditioning, there is a large common room and kitchen. Special thanks to Maria Teresa for her hospitality and willingness to help :)
Drawers for the stuff don't have locks. You have to bring your private lock, if you want to keep your stuff 100% safe

Verified reviewThe spare zone
They cheated me with the reservation. I paid through booking but later on they sent an email directly from this hostel telling that I had to pay through the link they sent me otherwise the booking wouldn't be complete. So i paid twice and they didn't refund me. I tried to get it through my bank but it was impossible. Be careful with that. It is about another line of business.
