Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing not to like. But personally, coffee/tea making facilities in room would be a very good addition, as would a full length mirror be.
the hotel had a lovely authentic feel about it. Homely but with good facilities. Food was good. Always choices for every course. Always 3 courses, plus salad bar. Staff great and really helpful with information on buses etc. Free parking close to hotel, but might be different in high season. Other parking available, but there is a cost

United KingdomWe personally found the church bells at 7am every morning a little frustrating, they do stop you from sleeping in if you want to, depending on the type of trip, although the hotel can't do anything about this, maybe take this into consideration when booking The transportation into and out of Torbole were a little infrequent, this hotel would be perfect if you had a car, but you would need to plan if you are relying on public transport. Getting to the hotel from the airport is a little bit of a pain, but the bus stop is right near the hotel and if you want to go somewhere or visit a part of Lake Garda or around, everything is relatively accessible The promoted wellness centre as part of the hotel is 10 euros per person and we personally found this to be a little bit of a let down. The hot tub was uncomfortably cold and we ended up spending most of our time in the Saunas instead, I think the hotel could do a little more in this area to make it more reasonable for the price you are paying. One of the desert options for a couple of the days was fresh fruit and arrived being just a whole pear and an apple, I love fresh fruit and believe they could have presented this a little nicer as I might have well have just gone to the supermarket and purchased fruit myself.
Breakfast was lovely, we had available a selections of pastries, fresh bread, fruit, cheese and cold meats. We had half board and weren't expecting a lovely three course meal every night, the food was incredible. I'm a pescatarian and there was always one vegetarian, fish and meat option available every night alongside the salad bar. There was one miss-hap with a dinner where they supplied hash browns with meat in them alongside the fish, but this was mentioned to the staff and they strongly apologised and made note of this for future meal plans. My favourite thing was the homemade tiramisu!!!! The room was very clean, comfortable and located in a beautiful area Staff were lovely, they went out of their way all the time to help us plan days or to organise stuff for us, the hotel couldn't have done enough, would definitely return to the historical, beautiful epOche Hotel Zanella 1889.

EstoniaLovely stay, a very modern and comfortable room. We had amazing views to the mountains and they also offer a private spa (jacuzzi, infrared- and finnish sauna) for only 10€ per person. The staff were really nice and accomodating, we forgot a pair of earrings at the hotel which they were more than happy to send back to our country by post. Parking availbable near the hotel for 7€.

Since there were room availables we were upgraded for free to a bigger room. That was very kind ! We loved also the small spa in the hotel, for just 10 euros per person you can get access to a whirpool, finnish sauna and infrared sauna. The breakfast choice was amazing, there was more than everything you can think of. We also found very valuable the dinner choice and i loved the huge choices of salads and vegetables they had.

IcelandThe parking is a little walk away, but that really does not matter. It's a nice walk in a small town. The pool is not heated. But that did not stop the kids.
The staff, the location in town, the breakfast. Everything. Teresa in the lobby told me about a local dish called carne salad, meat salad. That is the best kind of salad. Would recommend.

FranceI had the beef burger for dinner; it was overcooked, dry and tasteless, I left half of it, which I never usually do. The room was strangely organised with a "lost" space behind the bed head which wasted about 1/4 of the available room area.
Very friendly and helpful staff, really exceptional. The room was clean. The bathroom was great, plenty of room in the shower!

SlovakiaFirst of all, I would like to highlight the cosiness of the hotel. The warm welcome and the nice room made our stay great. The second thing I would like to mention is the breakfast: a large buffet with tasty food and always smiling staff made the start of the day pleasant.

Great hotel! It's quite and not that big. We liked te atmosphere. Nice, little swimming pool were you can relax. You can walk to Lake Garda but it's a 30 min walk down and up when you come back. Breakfast was perfect! A lot of choices: toast, fresh bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, all different kinds of pastries. We really enjoyed our stay!! Room; We had a quatriple room. Not so spacious for 4 people but clean and a nice bathroom. The only thing we missed was a little refrigerator.

PolandLack of fridge and electric kettle in the room I would consider as a serious disadvantage. There were also troubles with access to the internet via open WiFi.
