Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIf you have heavy luggage like I had, you must be strong enough to carry them down and up the stairs. The shower is tiny. I am 5’7” and 162 lbs and I have difficulty to move inside. If you are heavy you won’t fit.
Quiet and renewed.

GermanyNot exactly accessible due to the stairs. The room with balcony is beautiful but you cannot use the balcony at night as there are no lights.
The location is amazing, it overlooks the sea. The rooms are just right and have air-conditioning.

CanadaThe room was tiny and not very comfortable. Reception and breakfast room open only at 8 in the morning, which is inconvenient if you want an early start for your day.
The property is located on a beautiful hill above Livanto. It is quite close to the town but without any noise.

FranceA bit far away from the first village of Cinque Terre but we have a car so just need to be organised and book the shuttle or park the car in a parking near a village
We really enjoyed our stay in Soviore. A bit far away from Monterosso (5km) however, a free shuttle is available upon reservation at the reception ( /!\ only 8 places ). Breakfast is an important part of our decision when we book a hotel and I can say it was absolutely wonderful, the produce on offer was local and delicious! We’d definitely be going back in the future.

New ZealandIt would have been great to know about the shuttle bus before we arrived, as we paid for a taxi up the hill which was quite expensive.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant on site was brilliant. It was great for our stay.

United StatesIf you don’t have a car, this property may be too far away for you. Walking to the waterfront is really not an option.
It’s a beautiful property up the mountain from the waterfront. The views are amazing and if you hike there are several trail options. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The shuttle is great for those who don’t have a car, just make sure you are aware of the time schedule. We had to take a taxi up our first night (€30) and our drive was on the wild side.

United KingdomBe careful the shuttle system was only 9am to go to Monterosso and 6pm or 7 pm to go back, with limited space. So we got stuck with our luggage on arrival as we arrived at 2pm and could leave them anywhere. It was a such not to be able to enjoy the restaurant in Monterosso in the evening but just keep in mind you might need to book a taxi
The view is incredible !! The room is small but confortable. They have a restaurant at the sanctuary you just need to book in advance, the food was nice.

United KingdomThe room was not what we had booked as we should have had a patio. The room was very small. The restaurant staff were laughing behind my back at my pronunciation at least I was doing my best to speak in Italian.
The location was excellent although not easy to find. The restaurant is good the portions are huge so you only need a main course. The lady on reception was excellent she helped with buses etc. The breakfast was ok.

FranceWe enjoyed our stay. We knew we had booked the hôtels smallest room, but it was fine with a lovely clean modern bathroom air-conditioning and comfortable beds. The staff are helpful and friendly and the restaurant serves a tasty varied dinner menu on the beautiful terrace with gorgeous views down to Monterosso - breakfast was also generous with a great sélection of dishes. We walked directly from the hotel to Vernazza, an easy, attractive dowhill hike. We took the ferry ( same price as the train but so much nicer) to Monterosso, We wandered around the pretty old town before taking the steep path from the old town back up to the hotel - quite tough in the afternoon heat, but doable -, I'm 63. Dont miss the direction sign on the left hand side of the road as you start the ascent. We will happily return on future trips to discover more of this magnificent area..

CanadaBare bones room/bathroom. Room was small but it was fine since we only were sleeping there.
This property is out of a fairytale! The grounds around our little room were so pretty! The little yellow house that is shown in the photos is just beside a long pink building where you go to register and have breakfast. Check in was pretty simple and straightforward. Our room was small but adequate for our needs. The bathroom was large and clean. Kind of 'bare bones' but also awesome all at the same time. There are trails from there leading to the other towns and one trail that leads down to Monterosso. The trail down to the village is around 3 Km, and quite steep. It's a hiking trail more than a walking trail. Good shoes are recommended. The breakfast was a good spread of different types of food and when I asked for a banana (as the last one one taken right before me) the lovely lady brought me one right away! The road getting there was a super fun drive - lots of turns and switchbacks. We were able to park there no problem. There was also this spectacular church on the property we were able to look into! It was really pretty!

BelgiumThe staff did not mention all the facilities (for instance the shuttle to the Monteresso) which you really need. When we checked in a guy asked how much it would cost to go there by taxi so we thought taking a taxi is the only way to go there. We went there on foot which took 1.5 hour on the road that was quite dangerous coz there was not enough room for cars and pedestrians. quite and experience though. On the way back there was no Taxi, we called almost everybody but they were not working (it was around 7:30 p.m.) The locals helped us to call the hotel and it turned out that there had been a shuttle to the beach! although that day we had not booked it! so we walked to the hotel in the dark! The next day we booked the shuttle but even this way you have only one option to turn back. I should say the driver is not helpful and understanding at all (we saw him commuting with empty seats in the van). Overall it is a nice place but the breakfast is disappointing (moldy fruits, staling bread). But the bar and coffee shop was a Plus since they are very kind and professional. The prices in the bar also was fine as compared to other hotels in Italy).
The room was clean, the beds were OK. The windows were small but the hotel is situated at the mountain so you have a nice view of the foot of the mountain and the see. The larger building used to be an old hospital so the place is kina unique.
