We had a truly wonderful stay at Il Motto di Tommy! The property is beautifully maintained, full of charm, and surrounded by stunning views that make it feel like a peaceful retreat. Manuel is incredibly welcoming and helpful, offering great local recommendations and making sure everything ran smoothly. We’d definitely recommend having dinner at Sunset Bistro nearby while watching the sunset — a magical experience! Also, spending a day visiting Isola Bella and Isola Madre is an absolute must.

Wonderful experience at Manuel's gorgeous villa, nestled in a little town on Lago Maggiore. Walkable to restaurants and lake. We arrived JUST as the pope was being announced - was so cool to catch this with Manuel in his lovely living room space. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and getting to chat with the other guest staying that night. The gardens and grounds were so pretty, even though it was raining while we were there. Loved the original turn of the century design features in each room.

My mother and I absolutely loved it here. Manuel is such a lovely and friendly host, always willing to help. We always enjoyed his company. il Motto di Tommy is such a lovely property with stunning gardens. The room/balcony/view to the lake made such an impression on us that we were already talking about returning on arrival! Thank you Manuel, this was such a big highlight on our 3,000 mile road trip.

The parking was difficult for me as it's in a parking off site and unfortunately it's a very difficult road to reverse back up in order to get to the parking..

The owner (Manuel) clearly puts a lot of time and effort into this B&B, it shows, it's very clean and well cared for, it's delightful, with lovely gardens. Manuel was extremely helpful and goes the extra mile for his guests. I wasn't expecting such a lovely stay but Manuel really makes sure his guests are well cared for.

I don’t recommend to a solo traveller. The bathroom in the images is not en-suite. It is for private use, but located one floor below behind the kitchen where the breakfast is prepared. Therefore not only cumbersome but also exposed. Ununderstandably, the single room occupant’s breakfast was set alone inside, while the others got to eat outside on the terrace.

It is a stunning location and a very well kept place, but unfortunately exposed to traffic noise.

Highlight at the end of our vacation... Top-maintained accommodation in a super property with a fantastic view of Lake Maggiore. Centrally located, the sights are easy to reach. Plenty of parking available. Host Manuel is very accommodating and gave us lots of great tips for our stay. The restaurants in Castellvecana - especially Pizza & Basta and Sunset Bistro as well as Da Gennario - are also highly recommended.

The property is beautiful and so is the view from the balcony. Manuel is brilliant, greeted me outside, helped me with parking, it was late in the day so helped me with a reservation at a local restaurant which turned out to be the best meal I’ve had in Italy! My room was perfect, everything I needed, lovely balcony. I had a bath which was exactly what I needed to unwind! Cracking stay, I’ll be coming back to show my partner!

This is an absolutely beautiful little bed and breakfast with a gorgeous garden and impeccable view over the lake from our own balcony! Very good value for money in this area. The host was extremely friendly and accommodating to our needs. Nice local restaurants near by. The village felt very authentic and not as touristy as other villages we visited. We would definitely stay here again!

Transport was a bit limited. Trains ran from Calde, around 9.00am, then we had to rely on bus travel. The rail replacement buses didn't always appear, to bridge the gap until the trains resumed later on in the afternoon.

Breakfast was always a plentiful choice., provided within a generous time frame 7.30am to 10.00am. Manuel was never far away for help or advice. I enjoyed practicing my Italian with regular conversations.
