Great location and comfortable room with nice character. Cristina was very helpful with advice getting there by car and where to park close-by. The view of the sassi and the gorge below from the window was spectacular. Great cost effective alternative for exploring Matera rather than staying in an expensive sassi.

‏, it was hard to find, and even locals struggled to help us. We had to ask someone to call for directions at night. Specific directions would be helpful, like noting that there are stairs from the main street to the upper level and placing a sign or flower pot to mark the entrance. It was tiring to wander around with our luggage.

The hotel is in a great location, and customer service before arrival was good.

Absolutely exclusive location of the apartment, which overlooks the unique panorama of Matera. The hotel communicates in advance, helped with all the information including parking, or there is a large free parking lot at the castle next to the University. The room is perfect, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is great. We are completely satisfied. Wi-fi worked flawlessly and check-in and check-out were fast and hassle-free, as was payment.

The room was unique and the furnishings were just perfect for a cave room theme. The room was spotless, with a good size bathroom, and bed was comfortable. The location was great with excellent restaurants near by. Christine , our host was very helpful providing clear details on check in and checkout, as well as parking and other questions.

We were there on the annual fest, July 2. Dont go into town. We were locked inside fences from 8 to 1.30. Nowehere to go. Nowehere allowed to pass. Its a hell.

Bed could have been more comfortable.

WOW made our holiday to stay in an actual stone / cliff house. Gorgeous decor. Fantastic shower room with copper hand basin and taps. Actual stone cliff as one wall - wooden swing bedside tables. Fab view of gorge and UNESCO Ancient Town of Sassi Very quiet as stone walls- slept really well. Front patio area great.

A little far from the bus terminal 45 minute uphill walk with luggage, so we opted for a taxi.

Loved the window view across Matera. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. Host graciously allowed us to drop our bags ahead of check in.

very unusual location overlooking the the Gravina. the view is spectacular. The room is spacious and clean. The bathroom shower is clean and new. the bed is comfortable. the host kept in touch and was very accommodating.

Its a fantastic room but it feels a bit more budget than what its priced at. Window with view is quite small. Walking from the parking is about 10 minutes down lots of stairs, so if you have bags keep this in mind. Shower drain did not properly drain and was clogged.

Location is stunning: the small window view is stunning and also in 2 minutes you walk out and you are on the historic tourist trail to Matera. Only 10 minute walk into town. The host is very responsive and helpful. The cave room is beautiful.

The room didn't have a view as expected & there isn't a lot of head clearance. My husband banged his head a few times. You also require a code to get into the accommodation. We needed to ask the lady next door for help to get access into the property. Codes need to be sent at least 24 hours before arrival so that clients have access to WiFi.

Basic breakfast of coffee & a croisant, provided by voucher at cafe 500 metres away.

When it rained, water came through the window, the shower didn’t work properly and the toilet seat was broken. As we only stayed one night that wasn’t a big problem. But considering the amount we paid, I expected a bit more.

The owner was very good in communicating! We got free water and juice and some vouchers for breakfast coffee and croissant. The location was great and we could find some free parking closely nearby.
